3-gun nation women's league

I’m working on a full write-up of the weekend’s festivities, but in the meantime please enjoy these images I snapped of the competitors and their pretty guns. Click the image and then click the resolution (where it says “4000 × 2672”) to view the full images in full resolution.

And before anyone asks, there are some pictures where I appear to be “downrange” of the shooter. These pictures were taken from well behind the firing line (and usually from behind one of the 3-Gun nation camera guys), but shooters are under the “floating 180” rule in terms of where they can aim their firearms. In short, as long as the gun doesn’t point uprange at any time, they’re good, so I was plenty safe in that spot. Kinda like taking pictures of a rally race. More on that later this week.

  1. So… having a considerable bag of belly paunch was a requisite for entry?

(REVERSE DISCLAIMER) Hey, got one too….

  2. I have never considered the AR style to be pretty. Throw in Pepto Pink for a color and it hurts my eyes. When a gun makes a Mosin Nagant look handsome it’s time for at least a cosmetic upgrade.

  3. I like the rally race anlogy. And since you brought it up, reminds me of one of Jeff Coopers lines from some Russian friend: “Eez gon! Eez not safe!”

  4. What’s the overall length of those shotgun mags? Just wondering if they’re more than 28″ and would now (well, July 1) be illegal here in CO.

  5. I think I’ve shot a few USPSA matches with some of the FNH team members… at least the woman int he FN shirt looks familiar.
