This image has been around for a while. But then so have I and not a lot of people know that (to quote Alfie). Anyway, I caught sight of PC’s gun trump for the first time yesterday and it made me LOL. Now I know that the only thing less funny than dissecting a joke is Adam Sandler. But analyzing this image from the firearms perspective reveals its appeal to anti and pro-gun folk. Think of it this way . . . .

MAC users are generally considered (at least by themselves) as intellectuals. The intellectuals amongst the media (i.e. all of them) consider intellectuals liberals. So the PC guy is a conservative who can’t win a rational argument with the MAC and resorts to a gun. This amuses liberal anti-gun folks.

Of course, the liberal media tend to use MACs, which puts them (metaphorically) at the business end of a gun. Which amuses conservative, pro-gun types. Who probably find the MAC guy insufferable even if they use a MAC. And I bet they really enjoyed that Bruce Willis movie where MAC was the wimpy sidekick.

So what’s incendiary about any of that? It’s an image of brandishing, with a hint of psycho killer thrown in for good measure. People without a sense of humor are likely to be disturbed and offended. Which makes it even funnier, if you ask me.

  1. I guess I’m smarter than a liberal then. I use Linux. Mac is the new Windows. I didn’t think it was possible to bloat up a variant of BSD, but the folks at apple proved me wrong.

Yea, it’s off the subject, but I couldn’t pass on an opportunity to make fun of Windows and Mac at the same time.

  2. It’s about time that the PC guy stands up to the Mac nerd. The PC guy better hope that Mr. Mac Nerd doesn’t pull a out Mac-10 . LMAO
