“The biggest key has been sustained effort — never giving up — the gun-control movement has had trouble sustaining the effort. To succeed, the movement needs to keep at it with the right messages — and do so in an unrelenting way so that political leaders know that it won’t go away if they just delay.” – Matthew Myers in Can Americans ditch guns the way we ditched cigarettes? Can Progs ditch pot the way we ditched cigarettes???
They don’t need to. They made it a medical issue and legalized it, more or less. Maybe I am ignorant, but I don’t see any “smoke and you die” labels on the packages. They are building their industry without the need for banking or advertising or other meddlesome outsiders. They are heading to a niche with less regulation than similar products.
That’s actually not true, at least here in Colorado.
I was surprised to see that the bags of dope here have a full ingredients list, that is every chemical used to grow them along with a pretty exact THC count. That’s required by law.
They aren’t required to tell you anything about smoking dangers because they don’t know if that’s how you’d choose to ingest the stuff.
There are other ways to ingest pot, like vaporizing or eating it. Those ways have far fewer negative consequences.
Using pot recreationally is dumb, in my opinion. But then I say the same thing about using tobacco or alcohol.
However, unlike those two, THC does have some excellent applications for legitimate* medical treatment. It’s similar to opioids: some people use them for destructive purposes, but imagine trying to recover from major surgery without opioid-based pain pills.
* I don’t count the thousands of “anxiety” prescriptions that sprang up after medical legalization as legitimate medical use.
Jason, from what I’ve read, since the legalization of pot in Colorado, fatal traffic accidents of those under the influence of pot, have gone up more than 50%. Doesn’t seem to be too beneficial to me.
Pot is an acceptable distractor and it is a `medicinal cure`(placebo) and it brings in the money.
Heaven for (D)’s and progressives and commies.
Except for all the well studied non-placebo effects.
I suggest you read actual medical and scientific studies on the subject. The Consumer’s Union Report on Licit and Illicit Drugs is a good place to start.
I think you missed Raptor’s point…
@burley, that’s one of his talents.
Can we ditch Progs, the way that all communism, that has ever been eradicated, has been in the past? With violence and aforethought.
Most gun owners can’t be bothered to ditch the progs. I couldn’t even round up one of my gun loving friends to attend a rally here in Minnesota a few weeks ago. They all had things to do. They sure bitch about the anti-gun swine though. Unfortunately we will lose this fight eventually due to lack of motivation from our side. Pure apathy.
Here in California they use pot as a tool for disarmament. Its on the state gun registry form.
Smoke pot? no gun for you
But you can get drunk as a skunk & get in a car , drive down the road & run some innocent person over. Social acceptance , all or most politicians drink alcohol. Why are we not asked if we drink when purchasing a gun ? Politics are screwed in the U.S.
The Donald never touches the stuff.
Let them dope up all they want so they forget to vote. We will make these traitor politician pay come Nov.
well damn, and here I am smoking a cigarette, lighting a joint, cleaning a shotgun with a pistol on my hip, and let’s not forget my fifth of whiskey either.
“…and let’s not forget my fifth of whiskey either.”
Just a fifth?
Real drinkers keep at least a 1.75l on hand at all times…
drink maybe once a year on my birthday, fifth’l do me, only one joint living in colorado may be the issue with my original statement 😉
They’ll eventually get the guns. Vast majority of 2nd Amendment supporters had no idea what they’ve been up against for decades. Many still don’t. The people taking the guns are playing chess against a brain damaged chimp.
Chess. is. a. game.
This “brain damaged champ” doesn’t play games.
That’s the Liberal Shtick…projecting more power/fanbase than they actually have. Saul Alinsky rule number umpty-squat.
The rest of the world is a glaring example of what life without our civil rights would be like:
S Africa’s white genocide
Europe with their welcomed invasion
Aussie’s and their black market for guns and high crimes
England with their stabby stab demographics
Yea, I’m happy and proud to be an American 🙂
@ Pg. 2, America has always been described as the ‘Sleeping Tiger’ (not because of the broken Progs), progressives might not live to see a war, that it has created, fully come to fruition. In the future Progressives will have to hide the fact that they are, in the deepest corners of their brains, in order to not be hunted outright, and stamped out in the public square.
The proof is that “liberal” and “liberalism”, as a popular movement in America, were denied to even exist not 10 years ago. It is still a swear word. F all of them.
Leftism has risen about every few decades, each time reaching a new high water mark. The term “progressive,” used freely now, has been a dirty word before, which is one reason they started calling themselves “liberals.” Hard to tell, but it looks like leftism may be on the way out again. If they would let it happen, they might be able to reach end-game next wave. Instead, they seem intent on pushing ever harder. That might well backfire.
Can you expand on that? without the brain damaged part.
I tend to agree that the 2nd will be gutted for all intents within about 30 years, unless something radically changes in the meantime. The urban center populations want this, not so much rural.
Just curious as to your reasoning.
The NRA failed when it allowed the National Firearms Act of 1934 to stand without offering opposition, the 1968 Gun Control Act, the NICS “instant check” system, the “no new machine gun for civilians” ban in 1986, the so-called “assault weapons ban in 1991, and other infringements on the Second Amendment. Let’s face it. What better way to increase membership than to “allow” infringements to be enacted and then push for a new membership drive. Yes, the NRA has done good, but its spirit of “compromise” will only lead to one thing…confiscation.
If the NRA is truly the premier “gun rights” organization, it must reject ALL compromise…
The NRA didn’t “fail” in those instances – they championed those changes.
The NRA is not the 2A champion they pretend to be.
At anarchyst and NM- dating legislation back to 1934 and even 1968 is a bogus argument and anyone with any sense of history knows it. Prior to the onset of NRA ILA in 1971, there was no organized opposition to legislation billed as “common sense”. At this time, NRA was a small organization comprised of bullseye and service rifle shooters who were concerned with marksmanship and firearms safety. That all changed after the reforms at the Cincinnati NRA annual meetings, primarily thanks to the late Harlon Carter. Since then, NRA has raised and spent more money on the retention and improvement of the Second Amendment than all of the little huff n puff groups like GOA and NAGR combined while still outspending all the groups, pro and anti gun as well in firearms training, safety and useful research on the issues.
FOPA of 1986 was a stab in the back by then Senate leader Dole, attaching his poison pill at the very end of their session before adjourning. (In the mindset of a Senator- Who wouldn’t vote against machine guns in the Senate in 1986, or today?).
Both the Brady Bill and Semiauto Ban were going to pass no matter how many people contacted their elected reps or how much money NRA or anyone else was willing to spend. It’s easy to document but the lesser groups all want to point to NRA, which doesn’t have a vote in these matters, as the evil one. That such tactics as ignoring the voters haven’t been seriously attempted by either the House or Senate since is pretty good testiment to how NRA marshalled the politics since- most of these wafflers actually do want to keep their elected, cushy jobs. (You can add those losing their congressional jobs for their obamacare votes to that collumn as well.)
The compromise, if you will, that put a sunset on the semiauto ban in 1994 has led to the AR platform becoming absolutely the most popular firearm in US history. Just weeks after the “ban” went into effect we saw the same guns with cosmetic differences on the tables, same as always, much to the horror of DiFi and the other banners who thought they’d won. GOA/NAGR et al would’ve never come up with the iron-clad, strict definition of an “assault weapon”, let alone make the entire thing sunset and have to pass again 10 years later. While the left can yell and scream, they’ll never accomplish this again- as I wrote above, ARs are now the most popular firearm in the country.
Complain about the NICS system that came about in the Brady Act? Might not be perfect, but it is a very useful tool to ram down the throats of those who claimed it’d be the panacea for all the guns getting into the wrong hands. As we’ve seeing now, the system is only as good as the info that is put into it, and in that the blame falls solely on the various government agencies. Actually, my state (Iowa) has a very fine program for those who’ll submit to either a CCW or FOID: get it and there is no (zip, zero, nada) NICS check during the 5 year span of the permit when purchasing a firearm since producing the permit is proof of one’s eligibility to own a firearm.
Nothing is probably perfect enough for some but I’m still very happy to live in the US and have no trouble exercising my rights and liberties. Were I in one of the dictator states, I’d move if I couldn’t affect a change.
I have to agree with Craig in IA about the history of the NRA. It took time to raise a political organization that was not needed early on.
Let us remember that years ago California wanted to ban guns and put the proposition on the ballot. The left was sure with all the anti-gun propaganda that this was sure to pass. It lost by two to one. Notice that these types of ballot initiatives have not been used since in any major elections!
Read the comments….way too many still framing this in the false left vs right, liberal vs conservative paradigm. No idea what they’re up against.
Yeah we do, it’s all red and blue: http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/05/11/report-donald-trump-to-hang-portrait-of-electoral-college-landslide-in-white-house/
When that’s sorted we’ll fix an other progress munchers rearing their ugly heads.
The key distinction is between collectivism vs. individualism). That continuum goes from totalitarianism at one extreme (in various forms, communism in practice just being one of them) to anarchy at the other extreme. Since anarchy is highly unstable and tends to give way rapidly to totalitarianism, few of even the most hard-core libertarians fall all the way toward the anarchist end of that continuum, recognizing that there are key functions of government without which a society of any size cannot function.
Regardless, whereas not all those who think of themselves as conservative skew toward individualism (and certainly not all republicans do), modern leftists (who are driving the agenda of the current incarnation of the Democrat Party) skew very far toward statism/collectivism. Civilian disarmament (with the intent to leave government and favored classes serving government very much armed) is an essentially statist/collectivist position. And, like it or not, it’s just one part of a package, including control of information and systematic removal of limits regarding what the government is allowed to do to citizens.
I grant that there are some who are generally collectivist but still believe in the right of individuals to keep and bear arms. Various models of political orientation are just that, models. They don’t describe human thought at a micro level. However, “liberals” with more moderate views on firearms regulation are decidedly not in the driver’s seat of Western leftism.
“They’ll eventually get the guns.” NO, they have no clear path to do so and we can easily prevent this if we’re willing to quit being so self-righteous, ignorant and selfish. The key of the left’s attempt is similar to how they plan/planned on taking over the country years ago- give in to the adults of today and destory their youth through indoctrination. The thing about kids, however, is that in their inexperience with various concepts, issues and hands-on usage, it’s pretty simple to make a 180 degree change in direction. Host a large, bussed in, celebrity pro-2nd Amendment event with free pizza and some actual shooting at a range and most of the attendees would be the same ones who were “rallying” against it a week before. We should take advantage of the inexperience of youth as well, but we don’t.
So, instead of hanging around here arguing about which organization does more/less to promote the 2nd Amendment, get off your butt and start taking your neighbors and their kids shooting. Take your old lady along as well, hard as that might be. Make an effort to get out to a range a couple times a month if not more and exercise that right while introducing it to others.
While NRA is vilified around here by the “purists”, and those same people will condemn permitted concealed carry, it’s an easily-documented fact that more people of both (I only claim there are 2) genders now own and actually carry firearms for their own personal protection than did 15 years ago. NRA is primarilly responsible for this, admit it not- GOA and NAGR did little to pass permitted concealed carry. More people involved in the exercise of RKBA is huge and a roadblock to the old “women hate guns and are a sure bet for gun control” faction that existed only a few years back. If not, none of the makers would be targetting guns specifically for females.
“Constitutional” carry is continuing to make slow and minor inroads but will not come to be in most states until its supporters finally try to work with NRA state organizations to pass them rather than trash the organization. The real problem is that I doubt GOA or NAGR, among the others, would ever admit they actually need NRA to accomplish any of that which they claim is their non-compromise standard.
Women might be a lot more willing to hang around and shoot guns with us if we stopped referring to them as the old lady. Just sayin…
Nah- mine knows it’s a term of affection which also shows age…
She’s pretty happy to go shooting with me right now, anyway. While attending NRA/Dallas she, my little bro and I attended the Whittington Center breakfast for donors. We’ve spent considerable money there and know a number of the other donors. Anyway, at the sign in there was a basket of what looked like stuff from their gift store- caps, t shirts, glasses, etc. $100 raffle, only 75 tix sold. WTH? I bought one and put the old lady’s name on it. She got drawn for the prize at the end of breakfast and lo and behold, there was a 1911 in the basket. Handbuilt, custom, I figured around the tag of Les Baer’s fine guns. (Go to http://www.republicforge.com- this is a Patriot with Mastadon Ivory, case-colored frame, lots of other options. ) Frank and Pete Brownell were sitting at our table so I asked Frank to have it shipped to him so she could do the transfer back in IA.
Little bro went back to the room and started pricing the options out on their “build your own gun” option on the site. Somewhere in the neighborhood of $5000. I have Gold Cups in 45 and 10mm anda couple other custom 1911s but nothing like this. She’s coming up to our lake joint tonight and we’ll take it out shooting tomorrow. I know she’s not going to like the 45 much (she has RA pretty badly) so I also picked up a 22/45 MK4 lightweight for her after the first few 45s have sunk in.
As I said, many still don’t understand. Reading many of these comments only cements my opinion on this.
For the gun-grabbing POS (D) and rinos, it’s not ‘how do we get all their guns’ it’s ‘when’.
For us, it’s not ‘when are we going to just kill all of those POS gun-grabbing (D) and rinos’ it’s ‘how’. We’re thinking up dog food recipes as we speak.
And isn’t it strange that there has been a series of events (or at least, coverage of same) that are appropriately paced, so to speak, to keep the interest up?
Have American’s ditched cigarettes? Recent data has shown an increase in nicotine use among school-aged kids thanks to vaping and some preliminary data suggests that a not insignificant number of these kids are making the jump to tobacco specifically because it is less common. Smoking is even making a comeback in Hollywood. It is losing it’s white trash air and taking on the atmosphere of rebellion and mystery it once had long ago. All thanks to the giant, seemingly temporarily successful, push to tax, regulate and ban tobacco.
As a civilization we don’t really ever quit any of our vices or habits. They just morph shape, ebb and flow. The eradicated scourge of today is tomorrows hot trend.
^This. The only reason we “ditched” cigarettes is that everyone switched to vaping. Unless there is some sort of laser gun alternative, we’re not ditching guns.
A laser “gun” is like non-alcoholic “beer.” What’s the point? If a gun doesn’t go BOOM, it’s not a gun…(no apologies to the silencer crowd).
Meh…tobacco(or pot) are not a “right”. My guns ARE. I don’t give a damn if I’m socially ostracized. It’s one of the joy’s of being an OFWG…😏
Exactly !! From one OFWG TO another.
The reason they can’t sustain an effort is that it’s an emotional knee-jerk reaction and as soon as the sting of a tragedy fades and their opportunities for virtue signaling to an audience become scarce, so goes with it the effort. You can only parrot the same protest signs and phrases so many times before you get bored of it. Let’s also be clear that the gun control movement has almost nothing to do with actually protecting kids and almost everything to do with sticking it to the NRA and the backwards, racist, uneducated, right leaning, hillbillies who’s fault it is that Trump is in office and who also happen to be really into guns. It’s hard to sustain a concerted effort when the true motivator is petty spite.
That’s a good point about the sour grapes motivating many on the anti side. They can’t seem to accept that Hillary lost because it was “her turn” in their minds. Gun control becomes a way to score points in the “culture war” game against the Deplorables. I’ve definitely gotten the sense from some I know on the anti side that this is more about revenge than public safety.
To me, it seems that the strength/intensity from the anti side may have died down a bit since the March for Out Lives event. Subsequent school shootings haven’t had the apppeal to the news media (i.e., a large body count or didn’t suit a narrative to push the anti agenda). Plus, we’ve seen many on the anti side overplay their hand, pushing for confiscation/2A repeal, which helps the us by justifying the “paranoia” from gun owners in the minds of fence sitters. And now we’re heading into summer and school will be out for ~3 months, so that setting will be unavailable for tragedies for the media to feed upon before the election.
However, HPA/SHARE, national reciprocity, etc., are pretty much dead for the forseeable future, IMO. And a perceived lull in the anti side is no reason for us to get complacent like we did after Hillary lost.
How about we just ditch these totalitarian, Liberal Terrorists™️ and would be Neo-Marxist, Post Modernist, fascists seeking to subvert our Bill Of Rights, instead?
Quite often, firearms owners are their own worst enemies. The duck hunters don’t like the AR-15 “black rifles” so they see no problem if attempts are made to ban them. The traditional rifle owners don’t like machine guns, so they have no problem with them being legislated out of existence. Some pistol owners see nothing wrong with certain long guns being outlawed just as some rifle owners would have no problem seeing pistols banned.
Friends, ALL firearms advocates must “hang together” and realize that an assault on ANY means of firearms ownership and self-defense is an assault on ALL forms of firearms ownership and self-defense.
There is absolutely NO ROOM for complacency among ANY Second Amendment supporters. An attack on one is an attack on ALL…
ALL firearms laws are unconstitutional on their face. Imagine the hue and cry if “reasonable” restrictions were placed on First Amendment activities, especially with the “mainstream media”. The Second Amendment is clear–what part of “shall not be infringed” do politicians and the media not understand…of course, they understand full well…it’s part of their communist agenda…
everybody likes machine guns.
every. one. they might not know it, but they do.
Only if you are buying the ammunition!
The problem is, we have allowed the anti Second Amendment crowd to define the terms.
A firearm is a tool which possesses no evil intent on its own. Assigning intent to an inanimate object is the epitome of insanity. Demonizing a weapon on “looks alone” also marks the accuser as an unstable individual who is also insane. Call them out on their illogic and insanity.
Another dirty tactic the anti-Second Amendment crowd uses exposes children to potential and actual harm by putting them in “gun-free zones”. These people care not one wit about children, but uses them for their own nefarious purposes.
We need to TAKE BACK the argument…
When the antis blame the firearm for the actions of a criminal, state that: “a firearm is an inanimate object, subject only to the intent of the user”. Firearms ARE “equalizers” and are used to preserve life and make a 90 lb. woman equal to a 200 lb. criminal”.
When the antis attempt to justify their “gun free zones” counter their misguided argument with “you mean, criminal safety zones” or “victim disarmament zones”.
State that “we protect our money, banks, politicians and celebrities, buildings and facilities with PEOPLE WITH GUNS, but protect our children with “gun-free zone” signs”.
When the antis state that: “you don’t need and AR-15”, counter with, “Who are YOU to consider what I need or want?”
When the antis criticize AR-15s in general, counter with: “you mean the most popular rifle of the day, use able by even the smallest, weakest person as a means of self-defense. Besides, AR-15s are FUN to shoot”. Offer to take them to the range and supply them with an AR-15, ammunition and range time. I have made
many converts this way.
When the antis state that: “You don’t need an AR-15 to hunt with”, counter with “AR-15s ARE used for hunting, but in many states, are prohibited from being used to take large game because they are underpowered”.
When the antis state that: “AR-15s are high powered rifles”, correct them by stating that “AR-15s with the .223 or 5.56mm cartridge are considered medium-powered weapons–NOT “high-powered” by any means”.
When the antis state that: “the Constitution was written during the time of muskets, and that the Second Amendment should only apply to “weapons of that time period”, state that: “by your logic, the First Amendment should not apply to modern-day telecommunications, internet, television, radio, public-address systems, books and newspapers produced on high-speed offset printing presses. Only “town-criers” and Benjamin Franklin type printing presses would be covered under the First Amendment”.
When the antis state that “only law enforcement and government should possess firearms”, remind them of the latest school shooting, as well as Columbine, where “law enforcement” SAT ON THEIR HANDS while children were being murdered, citing “officer safety”, afraid to challenge the shooter, despite being armed to the hilt. The government-run murderous sieges at Ruby Ridge and Waco are also good examples of government (mis)use of firearms. Let’s not forget the millions murdered under communism by their governments AFTER their firearms were confiscated.
This tome can be used to counter any argument against any infringement of our Second Amendment.
There’s always going to be an excuse to eliminate the US Constitution/Bill of Rights. These Bolshevik A-Holes already said that was THEIR intention. To replace it with a more patable left-wing socialist Marxist “Bill of Human rights”.*(Like the S.African one. Or more like an employee handbook.)* The same one SCJ. Ruth Ginsberg was happy to crow about..Because the government calls the shots and the little people don’t get a 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms. You get a “GOVERNMENT guarantee of basic human assistance for the working class. The left -wing has become more brazen because THEY were able to coax the mob of the unwashed masses to join THEIR cause and get THEM to help SHILL for the elimination of 🗽 Liberty and Freedom because Americans have too many rights, you know….
The gun rights community is essentially Germany after attacking Russia in WW2. A very formidable political force but ultimately doomed. Why? A confluence of reasons. Most gun owners aren’t willing to pay for the government they want. They believe that the truth is a defense. That the bill of rights will protect them. If you want something, you have to PAY for it. You have to pay for good candidates and pay for good lobbies. I know several people with NFA items, and they don’t belong to any gun rights groups.
Then you have unrelenting urbanization and immigration of people groups who came from slave pits and want to turn the US into a slave pit. Then you have barriers to entry into the gun culture. When all most people have access to is a few indoor 15 yard pistol ranges, the shooting sports will have a harder and harder time to grow.
The mass shootings will continue. This year alone we’ve seen Vermont and Florida fall hard. This isn’t going to stop. Within a couple years Oregon will ban new semiautomatic guns and standard capacity magazines. The NRA’s “red flag” laws are going in nationwide. Tick tock. On the bright side, bolt action rifles and low capacity handguns will likely remain unmolested for decades. They’re just too popular for things like hunting and concealed carry by government permission.
“Matthew Myers in Can Americans ditch guns the way we ditched cigarettes?”
I have said here in TTAG many times before the Leftists will use the tobacco model to attack guns on every front, from the business side (sue gun companies out of business for causing deaths, the ‘Bushmaster’ AR-15 Sandy Hook lawsuit), and now the social side (making it socially unacceptable to be a gun owner-slash-cigarette smoker). They succeeded in making smoking socially un-cool by publicly shaming smokers and created a raft of anti-smoking laws “In the interest of public health”.
They are going to have a tough time with making guns un-cool as long as Hollywood is making movies showing guns as being very cool.
Damn. It looks like TTAG may be a regular read of the gun-grabbers.
I have news for you, P.O.S. Progressives – there is no constitutionally-protected right to smoke.
You mess with the bull, you *will* get the horns :
That’s how it’s done !! Good for you Toro. Mess with the Bull , get the horns. Not so cool now is he.
Fuck Matadors and anything related to bullshit bull fighting. Wouldn’t be so bad if they give the bull a chance, what like guys on horses, then 6 fucknutz with spears, then el matador grande goes in for the kill. I’d rather watch lions eat Christians, fuck the sick bastard and anyone that watches that shit. A curse of a thousand gypsies be upon them
N here’s another, just before a bull hits you he closes his eyes, a cow won’t do that.
ironicatbest: “I’d rather watch lions eat Christians”
What!?…………Nice sentiment(sarc), Ironcat you’re no better than the matador or the people that watch that garbage; I think that sport is barbaric and should be ended.
You value an animals life more than a human being’s is pretty messed up.
Maybe that Christian that was fed to a lion would’ve sacrificed their life that your wife or children can live.
“To confiscate, you must registrate.”
I know, not really a word, but it’s the truth: unless the po-po enter every home and turn it upside down, there must be registration UK or Australian style first. That has to be passed by either Congress or state legislatures & survive court challenges.
Fudds vs absolutists: I think the attitude of the latter is hardening since confiscation is now openly discussed. Politicians know that “guns kill at the polls” and there won’t be a Feinstein sponsored bill passing anytime soon.
Gun rights people are in a much better position in society than in 1968; at least the battle is joined. Back then it was easy to depict gun owners as dangerous yahoos with little pushback. Now Media Hogg gets called names and nobody gets fired for it.
Since I brought up 1968 (I was there) look up “LBJ signs GCA”. Yeah, FFLs & import bans, but as he signed the bill into law, Landslide Lyndon was spitting mad that it didn’t mandate national registration of guns and Federal licensing of owners. Read his remarks; he was furious that the bill didn’t go far enough.
Someone mentioned that gun control is about revenge & not public safety. How true, and LBJ intended GCA ’68 as revenge for the assassinations of JFK, MLK, & RFK (though he despised them all).
It was sweet when LBJ croaked four years later. Not missed.
So, what do you think of my new ‘nick, TTAG ‘chimps’?
can’t leave you hangin’.
it has a great beat, and i can dance to it.
i wonder if “mess with the rattle and get the fangs” is taken…
FUCK THE HOGG’S OF THE U.S. AND ALL THE PUPPETEER’S PULLING THEIR STRINGS. FUCKING COMMIE LEFTISTS. Yeah I said it. He : Hogg is a weasel . a coward , and an attention grabbing little shit.
But nobody has ditched cigarettes.
All the lawsuits around cigarettes usually had to do with advertisement and the addictive properties of nicotin. In 2018 you can’t tell me you didn’t know inhaling tobacco in large quantity was unhealthy.
Can Americans ditch guns like they did cigarettes? I still smoke, so I guess some Americans won’t.
TO SUCCEED WE JUST NEED TO KEEP UP THAT REGULAR PARADE OF MASS MURDERS! rah rah rah KEEP IT UP GUYS! WE NEED TO ENCOURAGE OUR DISTURBED KIDS TO MAKE SOMETHING MEANINGFUL FROM THEIR LIVES BY BECOMING ROCK STARS WHO CAN CHANGE THE WORLD WITH ONE MORNING OF MAYHEM!
The path to gun control is within our grasp! Just let your kids watch the news, whine a lot, and steal your guns! Then we can arbitrarily raise the minimum age for Constitutionally protected guaranteed civil rights, summarily ban those evil icons of military deathmurderkill worship, and finally (finally!) coerce registration and vetting of any weapon held by any untrained, unqualified, unauthorized person (which are all really the same thing, let’s be honest). As a bonus, we can piggyback that fear, ignorance, and hysteria into Super Extreme Red Alarm Protection Flag Chicken Little Laws to allow anyone who even SEES a gun in public to call an 800# to immediately evoke confiscation of the gun and preemptive arrest and mental evaluation of the citizen-soon-to-be-felon!
Like Dickie V says… IT’S AWWWWWWESOME BABY!
We said we’d “take a mile” if they gave us an inch, and by god, that is exactly what we are going to do! Cross your fingers, guys! Here’s hoping we have another MASS MURDER by the time the month’s out! Woohoo!
C’mon kids, there’s still ten days… haven’t you felt bullied today? Don’t you want to be FAMOUS?! Unlimited POWER!!
…it’s so effective… it’s almost…
disgusting. These people… sometimes it’s hard to realize they are fellow Americans. Try as I might to understand, tolerate, and respect the intentions of emotionally crippled, myopically ignorant, hysterical crazies… it is challenging, to say the least.
I’m more convinced than ever that the ONLY way that this is going to be peacefully resolved is to just simply break up the United States into different countries, somewhere between eight and eleven. Have the governors of the states hold a closed door meeting and decide which state wants to ally themselves to another and become a new nation. The extreme left can have the Northeast U.S., California, Washington and Oregon. The Libertarians can have Wyoming, Montana and Idaho and so on. When your in a bad marriage you don’t stick around just so you can fight all the time, you get a divorce!
For gun control to keep at it with the right messages is strangely predicting more school shootings in the future.
Let’s hope the next election is very expensive for the POS (D), they’re having to blow people for donations now.
Then 4 more years of Mr. Trump, and we’ll get rid of a few stupid rinos, and vote them out of their pensions / benefit plans.
All while giving the world the middle finger.
When are these really stupid people going to realize I am a law abiding citizen that owns guns. I know if I wanted to turn bad I could go anywhere in the hood and purchase a gun and use that gun for bad things. As the old story goes guns don’t wake up and say oh I think I will go kill someone today a gun is simply a tool. All these idiots gun rally and hold up there fucked up stupid little signs that say DONT PROTECT GUNS PROTECT OUR KIDS……. Really…. See the problem is what we have is bad parenting parents let violent video games raise there kids, parents let social media raise there kids, parents today can not take on the responsibility they need to, to actually parent there children. Just like the last shooting the FATHER doesn’t blame his son he actually said that his son was the victim. It is always some one else’s vault that’s the problem with parents today they make an excuse for everything there kids do wrong and don’t hold them accountable, just like there shity parenting they make excsuses and hold no accountability for there own actions
this is not right at all
