We do these because they are fun and I try to keep my comments mostly light-hearted.
So Floridians like to keep things light thanks to the state’s reputation for cool, comfortable summers. Especially in south Florida where summer highs are especially… refreshing. Hence, Mike’s got a small GLOCK26 that he carries in a discrete, inside the waistband holster. Good! Also tucked away somewhere, he carries a spare mag (a Magpul PMag – I didn’t know they made one for a G26!) in case of running across surly alligators or crocodiles or whatever sort of reptilian-minded ne-er-do-wells they have down there. Kudos on the reload, sir!
And in case all else fails, he’s got that Kershaw Blur to cut his way out of bad spots or into good packages.
My only criticism is that Mike doesn’t carry a light. Maybe Florida has daylight for 20 hours a day like northern Alaska. Who knows. I’ve only vacationed in Florida and I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Oh well. Throw in some shades, a wallet and some keys and he’s ready to hang out on the beach, in a restaurant or anywhere they have good air conditioning. Thanks heavens for Mr. Carrier, right?
Okay, I live in Florida too. Heat index was pushing 110 today. No sweat will evoperate. Until tonight. If your sleeping outside it will start again tomorrow. At dawn. Me? I’ve got the AC at 65 24/7. I hate the humidity. Anyway. Good Florida carry.
Anybody north of me in Florida is in “the cool part of the state”.

I’d have to have a sweatshirt on in there as a minimum.
I keep it about 78, and run the ceiling fans. The heat pump is just to knock the humidity level down.

The humidity in the panhandle is second to none.
Plus, we only have a breeze in April or when there’s a hurricane.
You know what the difference is between living in the great white North and Florida is?
3-4 months of winter vs 10 months of miserable hot and humid weather. Since natural gas is cheaper than electricity you pay less for heating than you do for cooling.
And we don’t get Hurricanes.

No flashlight. A phone is not a damn light.
No pepper spray. Need more then a hammer
No multi-tool. Just cause but an option
Needs to work on those gaps
I’m in Ft. Myers. My house is 2000sft and I keep it at 78. My electric bill runs about $100 a month in the summer.
How do you keep your A/C from freezing up? Every one I’ve known that tries to run their A/C below 70 around here jacks their A/C up.
Most freeze ups are due to a clogged or partially clogged drain system in my experience. That does sound pretty cold though. At my work our ac broke and when they fixed it it wouldn’t stop running. I honestly didn’t think an ac unit was capable of making it like a meat locker. Winter jackets inside in the Florida summer
Try Ya some of that Iowa Mid Summer humidity. Temps 90’s+ Heat Index 100+. It Sucks all over. Definitely a good EDC. Why so Hung Up on a light? Most likely the smart phone used to take the picture has an adequate light on it. Mine does and it’s easily rechargeable. Not saying it’s better or worse than a dedicated flashlight. It’s just not everyone see’s the need to spend the extra cash on one. I have several in my home, vehicles and Bug Out/Get Home/CERT Bags. So yes they are available when needed. I just don’t have one dedicated to EDC. Keep Your Powder Dry. The TIME is 3 Minutes Till Midnight.
Hot, humid= sweat and salt: note gun, holster, mags are wash, lube and wear! True Fl daily EDC till Dec!
I love the Kershaw Blur. Only criticism is the clip is somewhat flimsy.
Nice to see a Glock 26 in an endless sea of Glock 43’s.
Nothing against the skinny 9 but that 26 fills the hand so well.
I like how the 26 feels and how the shorter grip prints less, but it needs a rail for a WML, IMO. The Streamlight TRL6 is OK, but there’s nothing brighter available. So, if I end up liking my 19, my first Glock, I may make a 26L out of another 19. The Sig P365 is really what I want, but cannot have due to that GD hand gun roster!
I agree. It seems like the 26 has been all but forgotten since the 43, 43x, and 48 were released. Besides filling the hand so well, it is also nice to be able to carry a larger spare magazine (15 or 17 rounds).
Yes, they make 12 round PMAGs for the Glock 26.
After I bought my G26 I considered putting +2 mag extensions on the 10 round mags. I didn’t like the cost of trying that.
After the PMags came out, I actually made a deal with my LGS to trade my factory mags in towards credit towards the PMAGs.
For the 6 PMAGs with the trade-in mags I think I paid out of pocket $5.00. I have NEVER had a problem with a PMAG.
