Well that didn’t take long. Facebook has pulled the plug on the page Everytown for Gun Safety. You may recall that pro-gun forces assumed control of the page last week, after Mayor Bloomberg launched his Everytown for Gun Safety anti-NRA lobby group. The Mayor’s majordomo laughed off the missing link, challenging the page’s [temporary] owners to a duel. While we expected the billionaire anti-ballistics bully boys to prevail, what with trademark lawyers parachuting in to rectify the oversight, we didn’t expect the Everytown page to last long. It didn’t. However . . . there are now dozens of local Everytown for Gun Safety pages run by gun rights advocates. All of which are still on-line. For now.

  1. We are working to get it restored. My guess is because MDA had folks report a post or the page. There is not trademark in place at this time.

    • Good! Hopefully you’re successful, but it’s probably a long shot.

I hope nobody on our side stoops down to their level and starts wrongfully and maliciously reporting all of the pages and posts made by the anti’s. 😉

    • Good Luck! I love when the other side acts like the people they accuse us to be. It seems like they get their feelings hurt so easily and only respect speech when it is the kind they like.

      • AND several others from other states, and a few cities, too.

In this case MAIG screwed up big-time, and they are going to pay heavily for their mistake. Watch out Mikey, the right has learned how to use the tactics of the left, and you’re not going to like it at all.

“Freedom of speech isn’t working out so well for liberals now that they aren’t the only ones with a microphone. It’s not so much fun when the rabbit’s got the gun.” — Ann Coulter

“There is no fair fighting in a fight for your life or limbs.”

    • It isn’t hard to shut a page down if you know what to put in the report. It is more of a hassle than a done deal. If you are a page admin you can appeal it, which we will. As soon as that happens we will have the page monitored and removed from the standard algorithms which allow people to do this. Unfortunately it is the weekend. sooo… It might take a couple of days but we will be back.

    • I was mistaken on the direction of the page. I thought it was anti gun, Sorry peeps, I am pro gun!

    • There is not trademark in place at this time.

One does not need to register a trademark in order to make a claim of ownership. If you can prove first use of it, it’s pretty much yours to protect and defend.

      • Brian is correct! It was filed on behalf of MAIG, so the likelihood of the good guys getting the site back up is very unlikely. The site will surely be an anti-gun propaganda tool in no time.

      • Holy crap…. I guess millions gets you expedited through the Trademark Office, eh? It normally takes 6 – 9 MONTHS to get from application to approval.

    • That would be Mark Zuckerberg; undisciplined, money-hungry, spiritually immature, socially inept, Jewish, pencil-necked geek seeking approval from the higher-ups, even if it means helping to tear down society. He’s a Bill Gates clone. No morals and one hell of an ego.

      • And you’re bringing his religion/ethnicity into this debate because…why exactly? Perhaps you’ve decided to cede the high ground to our opponents.

        • Yes and no. Irrelevant because of groups like JPFO, and well, this little corner of cyberspace and the Jewish folks on it, just like the rest of us firearm folks.

However, as The Tribe’s People of the Gun have lamented on these very pages, US Jews are disproportionately anti-gun. Often actively so. In that way, relevant.

      • you do realize that bill gates has donated 1/2 his net worth to charities right?

You sound like an anti gunner spewing off at the mouth without your facts straight and spewing hatred towards a race/religion.

        • Considering Bill’s net worth is more than he could spend in one lifetime, donating half of it to charity is hardly a burden.

Then the question becomes, which charities?

But at least he is not spending his money supporting unconstitutional leftist causes, so far as I know.

        • If you look at the Gates Foundation’s list of charities, you’ll see a preponderance of helping 3rd-worlders live, live longer, and have a better income. If you think that is out of the goodness of Bill Gates’s cold, black heart – you might want to learn about the history of MS.

It’s about growing new consumers for MS, with a sprinkling of the occasional trinket for the US citizens who made him wealthy. As everyone I know in Silicon Valley says, it’s the greatest PR stunt with a blatant profit motive in history.

        • He’s also a proponent and bankroller of the Common Core Curriculum. You know, the fun filled gang that says 2+2=5 is OK if you can BS your way through how you got 5.

Oh, and he condones testing vaccines and experimental drugs in third world countries. For the children, of course…

      • You had me with “undisciplined, money-hungry etc”, but lost me when you included Jewish in the list of what you obviously considered negatives. I simply don’t understand how anyone who claims to be about freedoms, can be against the freedom of religion.

      • Please tell us his skin color too, and while you’re at it, his shoe size, textile of choice for neckties (and whether he wears neckties), how he trims his fingernails, and how often he gets his hair cut.

    • Surprised? You’re talking about a guy who got lucky, was in the right place at the right time, stole someone else’s idea, and is now cashing in by selling the private information of every Fail-Book user out there. I’d expect nothing less.

  2. Consider this…

When they first talked about facial recognition for photos on facebook… they said it would never happen. Now, not a day goes by that FB doesn’t ask me if I want to tag my wife, my nieces, my mom.. Hell, it asks me if I want to tag people I don’t even know.

Lord Zuckerbeast has this habit of rolling over on ethical stuff.

  3. If they cant keep it then FB is a complete sham and will be perceived by the masses as such

  4. Don’t use Facebook terrible elitist company that LOVES to censor people for all manner of reasons I was an it contractor for them and they stink

  5. The liberals love to jump and scream about anti-bullying campaigns, yet are first in line to bully when it suits their purposes.

    • Why not start one up? The source code and HOWTO is free.

      https://joindiaspora.com/

That being said, the unfortunate thing is that all the technological wonders we use these days are usually developed by people in California or New York, young kids who were raised under an anti-2A regime from birth. And sadly it’s virulent. All the millenial children I know, regardless of geographic location, are anti-gun or gun-ignorant.

And, because of social media, to them, privacy intrusions are “OK”.

The irony is they’ll play Call of Duty until they are blue in the face. But put a real M4 in front of them and they soil themselves.

      • Bwahahahahahahahaha! I haven’t heard anything about Diaspora in a few years. Sure, that’ll catch on.

      • Then they become very wealthy and very stupid. I say stupid because they think that their wealth give them extra insight as to how the rest of us should be allowed to live.

  6. If the name is not registered, then it should be denied ad it is now owned by the public, I.e. Its in the public domain.

  7. What did you expect to happen? It’s Zuck’s toy. I use FB to keep up with friends & family. Not much else. F##k ’em.

    • I don’t. My and my family’s activities are nobody’s business but ours. Remember email?

  8. I was friends with a guy who was involved in hacking and IT security for the military. He basically said you’re an idiot if you use social networking sites. You are building an online dossier on yourself that is better than anything the FBI could ever do. I quit FB and never looked back, but not before I deleted every post I ever made and de-friended everybody. Trust me–the gov uses FB for domestic spying. Is the info still there lurking in some dusty server? Probably, but I did what I could to scrub my profile.

  9. One more thing, if the liberals want FB, give it to them. It’s the Myspace of today. It has lost all relevance.

  10. No matter what, this was still a huge victory, I dont thing bloomers has ever been this embarrassed

  11. No problem… the victory was won with that first strike to take the name out from under Bloomberg’s face. The embarrassment was reported enough in the press to do damage.

  12. That’s weak. Make an ovesight like that and you’re shit out of luck. Or should be. The sissy mayor goes crying to the teacher again.

  13. I think Suckerberg needs to get up off his knees in front of Bloomberg, it doesn’t suprise me the page was taken down. Frankly I have become tired of Facebook, so I deleted my account.

  14. Whether or not the page is restored or not, and I suspect most likely not, is that what happened the true essense of a grassroots campaign. That irony is lost on Bloomie and his cohorts. By seizing the moment and occuying the space the objective was accomplished and the damage to credibility done. Like guerilla warfare, or Occupy type movements, or even protesters in the civil rights movement, sooner or later, a more powerful force moves in, but that too only adds to damage if played well. Instead of throwing around the F#$% Bloomie, or militant stance, it would be better suited to be vocal to Facebook and the media on who the reall bully is…and why this is an example of the very type of oppression that created the need for the Bill of Rights.

    • Bloomberg KNOWS that Everytown is a grass roots organization, because that is what he PAID for. You guys just don’t get it.

  15. I use FB for business. I’m thinking of creating a second login just to handle my business pages and deleting my main personal profile. It’s gotten annoying and also it stinks to use a service that is run by an anti-2A millenial brat.

  16. New headline:

Bloomberg bullies his way to Facebook page for “every town for gun safety”

I wonder if satire site “every town for gun control” is taken?

    • That could be kinda kicky, just the reverse of Everytown, say it’s about gun control and then list all the arguments against gun control! Like, two can play the game.

  17. find out which party Zuckerberg and FB inc. contributed most money to. Then listen to them with their “we’re a private company so we can do what they want” line.

then you know what happened and why. Bloomberg didn’t need to do anything, no lawyers needed. Just a call, like Zucky made directly and personally to the President to complain about the NSA harvesting *his* info assets…

no one calls the Prez directly unless the Prez owes them a *huge* “favor”.

  18. Here we go again with these chickenshit,Gestapo jackasses. All I have to say on The People are waking up and calling you on your bullshit tactics and two way talking. Get ready to be out on your pompous asses because we are coming to take our country back!!!!! Oh and on a side note I am an Army vet and I’ll be damned if you are going to the USA from me and mine or our freedoms!!! I know return you to your lamestream media reporting joke!!!!

  19. It’s been decades since I took a Copyright course but, IIRC, a TM on “Everytown for Gun Safety” does not block a name that is sufficiently distinguishable. Such as “Everytown for Gun Safety – Minnesota”. They probably can’t stop that, especially is you add a tag line that says “Everytown for Gun Safety – Minnesota” is not related to “Everytown for Gun Safety (a NY non-profit corporation)”.

  20. Facebook is not unbiased. I don’t know why anyone thinks otherwise. Zuckerberg and crew have proven they are the watchdogs for the left when it comes to Facebook.

  21. How can it be copyright? You can’t close down a page/something because they used the name you wanted, can you?

    • Yes… if someone infringes on your trademark with a website, page, etc… you can shut them down. Ask me how I know! 🙂 And, again… a trademark does NOT have to be registered to be claimed and protected / defended.

  22. Not a surprise. It’s really a lose-lose for Blooomy.

He can’t let it go on the one hand, but with so many sites now, shutting them all down is going to May him look like a bully having a temper tantrum.

Either way, it kills his credibility with anyone who isn’t already a true believer.

  23. Even if it goes back up and stays up,all bloomberg has to do is wave a few million under the page owners nose, and I’d imagine it would have a new owner…..

  24. There are a lot of Everytown For Gun Safety pages now, one of which has the .org suffix and appears to belong to Bloomberg.

Interestingly, a lot of folks claim that POTG aren’t social media savvy, but the original Everytown page attracted more than 25,000 likes in just a few days. The NRA has nearly 3.3 million likes, but MDA only has 154 thousand. And the Bloomberg Everytown page (https://www.facebook.com/everytownforgunsafety.org)? It has a whopping 103 likes.

  25. Left bloomie a nice little note. Now going to start searching for pro-2A everytown pages and like them.

Social media, the new way to bitch slap leftards.

  26. I agree, the fact that Bloomberg is Jewish is irrelevant. Except for the fact that you would think he would not advocate for Nazi style anti-gun policies. Typical 1%er.

  27. How about an update article on it being back up? All its likes were wiped, so it could use some help to get back on its feet I’m sure.

  28. Our Facebook page for Houston was taken down without warning. Technically, there was one panel that said we something copyrighted there that could be a problem, so they can claim that’s a warning, I guess. But when I clicked continue to, I thought, go to the admin page to remove whatever it was (which was not identified, by the way), the page was gone. No response from FB to two reports filed.

    Was:

    New temporary page:
