CC / Cody Wilson

In a news conference on Tuesday, September 25, Defense Distributed VP of Operations, Paloma Heindorff, announced the resignation of Cody Wilson. Wilson will not hold a position at the company going forward, and Ms. Heindorff will take his place as the company’s director.

According to her, the company, which has about 20 employees, remains healthy and resolute despite the change.

“I cannot be more proud of my team right now. We didn’t miss a beat. No one blinked,” said Ms. Heindorff. “We have no intention of stopping… This resilience, I truly believe to not only be characteristic of our company as a whole, but also the ideas that we have worked so hard to promote.”

Regarding Wilson’s role at the company, she said simply: “He’s been an incredibly powerful figurehead, but this is about an idea.”

Wilson’s resignation comes amid a widely publicized sexual assault scandal. Out with the old, in with the new.

  1. Oh golly! This is certainly not a setup, surely not. His enemies would never resort to such tactics. On a completely unrelated topic, wouldn’t it be great if the Supreme Court had all nine members?

    /s

    • How did his enemies get him to log on and set up an encounter through some sugar daddy site? How did they get him to have sex with someone either actually or apparently a minor, without him seeking proof of age?

O don’t think it counts as a set-up if it’s already something you do pretty regularly on your own and the government just comes along and provides you with an opportunity to do it again of your own volition.

      • Jonathan-Houston,

My first thought was a setup as well. Then, after thinking about it, I decided that it would be much easier, less costly, and less risky for a well-funded adversary to simply pay an assassin to eliminate Wilson. That being the case, I suspect that Wilson did what the state alleges.

The only significant remaining question: how far does someone have to go to ensure that a women is at least 17 years-old? Acquire a notarized photocopy of her birth certificate?

        • B-Rad,

The problem with your approach: there are a LOT of 15 and 16 year-old young women who could easily pass for 22 years-old — and vice versa.

Your ability to judge someone’s age is not a reliable method to determine someone’s age. What is the solution then?

        • Yeah, if you’re 30, signing up for a young chick website, paying them for sex, I don’t really care about the excuses. Don’t text pictures of your junk, period, especially to strangers.

Actually sleeping with this chick was like the 12th mistake on the chain of really bad decisions.

        • Also, what’s the solution, ask for ID. No ID, no brown chicken brown cow. I don’t want to hear about fake ID, there has been zero talk about that, and if the ID doesn’t have their face part on it, it doesn’t count. State issued ID or drivers license, minimum.

If your teen hooker can’t provide those, best go for a different teen hooker.

          • I’m pretty sure no prostitute ever or even a normal lady going on a date, would ever show an official ID allowing a stranger to take note of their home address.

        • They’d been texting for some period of time, nekkid photos back and forth and probably some words too, so the intimate details of address sort of go out the window, of the hotel room where you boning your teen hooker.

When in doubt, don’t do the diddle.

Also, generally avoid teen hookers, the teen bit is only a small part of the problem.

        • The best advice is to avoid bad people in bad places doing bad things.

Hookers are at least 2 of those, and a hooker meetup website fits the other.

Is there some argument that his judgment was good? Regardless of the hookers age, sure that’s icing on the top of the cake, but all the rest of was a 7 layer cake of dumb.

        • Ulnar, that’s like 2 extra “therapy sessions”. Probably cheaper than airfare to a non-extradition country though.

        • Can’t even start to consider that many if not most of the hookup sites for underage sex partners are run by law enforcement, specifically to catch such perps. Going online for anything like this is so stupid. How many famous names like that Disney big wig that got nailed years ago. Idiots never learn.

        • The point of a setup is NOT to kill someone, but to humiliate that person and destroy their life. This humiliation sends a message to the next person. Just like they are doing with Kavanaugh.

        • Yeah, this is a chilling threat to the next one. Don’t stick your ding dong in hookers, teenage or otherwise, it may get you into trouble.

        • Actually that wouldn’t be good enough. There have been cases where the Birth Certificate was incorrect and rape conviction was upheld on appeal. We live in a sick society that has no mercy on those who act reasonably yet are imprisoned for decades anyway.

      • It is possible for a third party to pretend to be someone else when signing up for such a service. It’s also possible for a third party to convince the target to show up someplace for what the target perceives to be perfectly innocent reasons. It would essentially be a variation on SWATting. (It’s also pretty much Sasha Baron Cohen’s schtick.)

In this case, it seems more and more likely that he really was stupid enough to not keep it in his pants, leaving him wide open to getting caught being stupid.

      • Have you checked ID on everyone with whom you’ve had sex?

I met a girl—dated her for months. I was 21, and met a girl who told me she was 18. I met her parents. Took her out in public. I never slept with her. I was in a point in my life where I was trying to be a “good guy” and get to really KNOW someone before jumping into bed. Things started not adding up and one day she finally fessed up and told me she was 16.

She lied to me, her parents lied to me.

        • So you mean it’s a good thing to know someone before having sex with them. Notice in your story, you didn’t do the diddle, because things didn’t add up. Good on you, common sense.

    • Gee you don’t think it could possibly be a set up,what would ever give one that idea, what with the supreme court nomination circus proceeding as it is.

  2. “I cannot be more proud of my team right now. We didn’t miss a beat. No one blinked,”

“He’s been an incredibly powerful figurehead, but this is about an idea.”

Umm…that doesn’t sound like it was much of a surprise.

      • “Any professional organization has a key man contingency plan.”

        Or several plans.

This famously reared it’s ugly head a number of years back when a corporation lost it’s entire management team in a biz-jet crash. Some families practice it when traveling, by flying on separate airliners, for example…

    • From an evolutionary perspective, it’s necessary.

If we only reproduced when it was convenient and prudent, the species would have gone extinct a long time ago.

    • @ Tiger.

I’ve know this guy since he was 14, constantly talking “Sh|t” about his Right to be a “Misogynist” with a “Don Juan Syndrome” (i.e. Satyriasis) complex at the same time. Specifically with girls under the age of 16! In 1997, he got caught by acting out on his “Thinking with his balls impulses” on a Minor, claiming it was his right to do so. He’s 66 now and out of Prison, and is STILL mystified by his claim to False Imprisonment, for what he keeps claiming is and/or was his natural right as a Man to do. If you can answer his “PDD complex”, than you’re far more knowledgeable than me, because I gave up trying to reason with him back in the early 1980’s…

        • Perhaps he was only seeking some time away as the law suits have most likely been somewhat harrowing as of late.

        • Serge, he apparently left in advance of the charges, but after a tip-off they were coming. Of course, there’s not much more to that than rumor at this point, like everything else so far (whaddya call anonymous statements not under-oath?)

I still find it interesting that they granted him bail…like, I’m beyond surprised, shocked even, that they granted him bail. His ‘missed flight’ must have actually been innocuous (the Taiwanese may have blocked his departure while awaiting for assurances at the other end of the flight he would be taken into custody or something)

That, or he’s on really good terms with the judge.

BTW, couldn’t he just claim they didn’t actually do the deed? Unless she had a kit done on herself or something (it sounds like she was picked up/narced on him a week later or so) it seems hard to prove much besides possibly enticement. Maybe they were on film making out right before falling into the hotel room through the door or something.

        • Apparently, he got the max bail available by law in Texas for a 2nd degree felony. I don’t know what the rules are for remand, but in Ohio you can’t remand on anything but a 1st degree felony,. I bet they confiscated his passport and maybe put on a nifty ankle bracelet.

    • Well if nothing else by appointing a woman it kind of breaks the ability of the far left and antis to screech about sexism.

That said, I don’t know anything about Ms. Heindorff or what she’s done in that company. So I can only hope that she has good ideas and can execute them competently. And ultimately I’m not that interested in what Defense Distributed is currently doing, I’m interested in the legal precedent they have set and are working to defend. I am very interested in reading the final regulations for sharing of data on home built firearms as I have my own ideas about distributing open source weapon designs.

      • Dog of War,

Give the Leftists a little time: they will soon be accusing female political enemies of sexual assault against other women and/or teenage (underage) young men.

        • No one cares because women can’t rape, whether it’s committed against females or otherwise. It’s clearly stated in the Feminist Bylaws. :^)

        • Ehh, I wouldn’t bet on it uncommon_sense. After all, the woman that was the face of the #MeToo movement has been accused of statuary rape of a 17 year old actor male and the movements are all lining up behind her to support her. Not to mention there’s been a few female politicians that have also been accused in sexual misconduct. That said, the left and the anti’s don’t need to try to rely on just allegations of sexual misconduct to attack their opponents. They’ll just make up another excuse to abuse the people they don’t agree with. Just like how they went after those two ladies that worked for the NRA.

anonymoose: yeah that’s a stupid statement there. Just because a woman is… well ‘equipped’ to commit a sexual assault doesn’t mean they can’t just use something else to abuse someone with. Someone in m family was victimized in that way.

        • I glanced at the site over the weekend, and there were folks saying that this is an example of the woman raping the man. I guess they must be very #meat2 and pro-woman power, or anti-man power, or something.

I can’t get over just skipping past the decision tree that got him in this situation, leading on to jetting off to Formosa.

  3. So, the answer to ‘how much harm will Cody’s arrest do to DD’s legal position’ is apparently ‘none’ because Cody doesn’t even work for DD?

Looks like Cody did one thing right this month.

  4. She is sexy too. I wonder if she is single and ready to mingle?! If she is reading this: I’m a grower but i will ensure u nut first

  5. I’m glad to read this. I was afraid Wilson was the entirety of the company and with his destruction, the company would follow. I know they were supported and worked with SAF. If you know Gottleib, you’ll know he is above reproach. I also learned all that donated money is squared away and under SAF control.

      • Defense Distributed is professional organization with an office and staff and all that stuff. But remember, the Second Amendment Foundation is doing the legal wrangling. Defense Distributed is just the defendant in the suits.
Although it certainly damages the reputation of Cody Wilson, his arrest should have no real effect on the lawsuits against Defense Distributed. It shouldn’t, but of course it will.

        • I understand that “Papa John’s” is now called “Papa John” after John Schnatter being terminated as CEO. Defense Distributor’s may have been Cody Wilson “Brainchild”, but so are a Lot of Other Companies who’s CEO/Owners lost their jobs for acts of Stupidity…

  6. If you get to know a person before having sex there is no chance you’ll get in trouble. That goes for prostitution. Try a normal relationship, its not rocket science.

  7. Why pay for sex when sluts give it away for free? Doesnt this guy live in austin? The average cost per bang has got to be about $8 in that town.

  8. Will the accuser eventually testify against him, or is she afraid of flying?

Also, have we seen hide or hair of Cody, or anything other than second-hand statements at this point? For such a skilled spokesman, it’s odd he wouldn’t offer ANY kind of public statement (obviously as a lawyer he’s well aware of the importance of keeping his mouth shut, but still) especially in light of all the conspiracy-minded folks skeptical of the details & timing of the incident.

    • As a lawyer. Umm, Cody Wilson is not a lawyer, he has a BA in History from Central Arkansas, he did go to UT Law for almost a year before he dropped out, but that was years ago.

  9. Years ago I was dating a 25 year old woman and I was 35 at the time. She one day introduced me to her half sister who looked almost exactly like Megan Fox when she briefly appeared on 2 1/2 men. The girl was just 16.

    • That would make Fox 24, but I would have guessed she was like 18-19 at the time. I assume a 16 year old Megan Fox looked like an infant if the current age 38 model is any indication of how she ages. She’s like a female Tom Cruise or something, and also has Lord Xenu’s protection against developing wrinkles or intellect.

In any case, curb your Rocket, Man 😉

    • And the moral of this story is that…people have ages? That your girlfriend had a sister? That your girlfriend’s sister was hot? Did you snog the 16 year old sister? If not, why not? Was it because she was 16?

      • The moral of the story is that women don’t have their ages tattooed on their foreheads. Given that there is an entire industry based around helping whamen hide their ages to entice men, it’s more than a little unreasonable to expect any man to instantly be able to tell the difference between a 24yo grad student and a high school student trolling for a sugar daddy. Especially when the average 24yo grad student these days has an IQ comparable to a rutabaga

        • Dude the story is about a 16 year old half sister that is hot, and tangentially to a 16 year old hooker.

You’re proposing a scenario where 16 year old is a 24 year old grad student, i.e. a college graduate.

          So if 16=24, then does 8=16? Does 24=32? I’m pretty sure 16=16.

16=jailbait, its a thing, look it up, not a new thing either. 24=not jailbait, when not sure, no lovey lovey.

straw man: The typical straw man argument creates the illusion of having completely refuted or defeated an opponent’s proposition through the covert replacement of it with a different proposition (i.e., “stand up a straw man”) and the subsequent refutation of that false argument (“knock down a straw man”) instead of the opponent’s proposition.

This technique has been used throughout history in polemical debate, particularly in arguments about highly charged emotional issues where a fiery “battle” and the defeat of an “enemy” may be more valued than critical thinking or an understanding of both sides of the issue.

        • Moral, as in moral of the story, that word does not mean what you think it means:

1a : of or relating to principles of right and wrong in behavior : ethical moral judgments

b : expressing or teaching a conception of right behavior a moral poem

c : conforming to a standard of right behavior took a moral position on the issue though it cost him the nomination

d : sanctioned by or operative on one’s conscience or ethical judgment a moral obligation

e : capable of right and wrong action a moral agent

  10. Old enough to bleed is old enough to breed. What gives any one the right to tell a fertile female who she has the right to mate with for any reason. And choosing to mate with a male who has the wherewithal to support a child is a much wiser choose than with stud Mcmuffin on the high school football team!

  11. Well it sucks since he seemed like a visionary, but if he built his team right the work will roll on.

Should figure out how to get involved.

  12. Re strange feelings I have lately noticed, might I have been sexually assaulted, and didn’t know it, or hadn’t been informed? I wonder.

  13. Replying to DesertDave, who said, “Can’t even start to consider that many if not most of the hookup sites for underage sex partners are run by law enforcement, specifically to catch such perps. Going online for anything like this is so stupid.”

FYI, DD, this was not a “hookup site for underage sex partners,” quite the contrary. the website Cody Wilson used to find the girl had strict rules that you must be over 18 to register to use the website.
Cody Wilson had every reason to believe she was over 18. As others have stated, a hooker is not going to show her birth certificate or driver’s license to clients. Even in a legal business, e.g. a doctor’s office or a plumber, a doctor or plumber is not going to show his birth certificate and driver’s license on demand to patients or customers; too much risk of identity theft, and for a young woman, disclosing her home address to strangers she met online is NEVER a good idea for any young woman to do, least of all a hooker or stripper.

Besides, the driver’s license wouldn’t match her hooker-name. Strippers always use fake names, and I bet hookers do too (I don’t have much experience to go on, just common sense).
