Not only is the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (and really big fires) refusing to provide Congressional investigators with documents related to disgraced Project Gunrunner and Operation Fast and Furious, but they ain’t saying why, neither. Which can mean only one thing: there’s some major league ass covering going on behind the scenes. Well d’uh. As we pointed out at the beginning of this sordid mess, before ATF insiders revealed that Mexican drug thugs used ATF-enabled guns to kill not one but two American law enforcement officials, the U.S. government’s actions in this misguided misegos are nothing less than a criminal conspiracy. Quite what charges, if any, will be leveled and by whom (the Department of Justice is in this up to their eyeballs) is an open question. Meanwhile, click here for Rep Darell Issa’s letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton re: her agency’s refusal to turn over Gunwalker docs. Yup Hillary’s in too deep, and Obama’s transparency pledge is coming home to roost. Shocked? Not me.

The President’s executive orders and proclamations will be published for everyone to review, and that’s just the beginning of our efforts to provide a window for all Americans into the business of the government. Nixon thought he could stonewall on the Watergate breaking as well. I suspect the current administration will soon learn their lesson as well but only if we all keep the pressure on the mainstream media and write our representatives to express our outrage.
I recently contacted Senator Corning’s office here in Texas and got back a personal reply stating his firm support to make the ATF fully explain what they are up to. Contacting your local Congressman and Sentors is always a good idea in situations like this. You’d be amazed at just how much influence the average citizen can have when you take the time to write your representatives about a particular issue.
