Far be it for me to second guess the tactics used in a police undercover narcotics bust. But really, why would a cop approach a car wherein other cops are busy conducting a drug transaction with a suspect? Unless of course the walking cop didn’t know it was a sting. In which case there are a whole bunch of lucky people in Albuquerque. And while we’re at it, I’m not a big fan of “stings,” which have this innate tendency to morph into “botched stings.” New Mexico, Land of Entrapment?

  1. Robert,

It’s my understanding that your an Esq… you know the proper and correct definition AND meaning of entrapment. There is no indication that the officers encouraged or incited anyone into committing a crime that they otherwise would not have committed without the actions of a Govt agent.

    • IMHO government agents should NEVER be in the position of pretending to be the bad guy. I can just about almost understand planting a law enforcement officer within a criminal enterprise. But doing business with them? Nope.

      • Yeah, and if you should ever visit, don’t talk to the girls on Central Ave in Abq- APD Vice has a few really cute officers…..

        • You can talk to them and even have sex with them, just don’t say a thing about PAYING them (because you know, it’s only moral to pay for sex if her name is on the mortgage).

        • I’ve always wondered how effective it would be as a cop test if you asked the undercovers/prostitutes if you could pay them to take nu de pictures?

  2. I’m sure that the events in question happened exactly as the Deputy Chief of Police explained it. Why would he lie or in any way attempt to deceive a gullible and compliant news media?

Here’s a thought. Legalize recreational drug use for adults and dramatically reduce these kinds of incidents. As an added bonus, it would allow cops to focus on real crime like murder, rape, robbery, burglary etc.

Did you watch the video? It clearly stated that the officer was approaching the vehicle to affect the arrest. At that time the suspect pulled a handgun and was shot by police?

I guess I don’t get the hub ub? (I’m going to leave the question of whether drugs should be legal out of this, I haven’t decided. The fact is they are illegal)

Was that a joke referring to your hundreds of posts on Fast and Furious?
