It’s always seemed strange that many of the same people who claim that President Trump is a dangerous proto-authoritarian, a fascist, even a closeted Nazi are among the strongest supporters for stricter gun control laws. You might think if you’re worried about being rounded up and put in concentration camps, you’d welcome the opportunity to keep some firearms to defend yourself and your family against the MAGA thugs. And yet these are usually the people who believe that the only ones who can be trusted with firearms are the police (when they’re not protesting cops’ inherent racism and violence) and the military.

But the times, they are a-changin’.

Tom Suozzi, a Democrat Congressman from New York, thinks it’s time for Americans to get themselves a gun and be ready to oppose Trump through force of arms.

…Suozzi made the remark to constituents at a town hall last week, saying that folks opposed to Trump might resort to the “Second Amendment.”

“It’s really a matter of putting public pressure on the president,” Suozzi said in a newly released video of the March 12 talk in Huntington. “This is where the Second Amendment comes in quite frankly, because you know, what if the president was to ignore the courts? What would you do? What would we do?”

A listener then blurts out, “What’s the second amendment?”

And there you see the problem. Suozzi was holding the town hall in the Long Island congressional district he represents. You know, in the state governed by Andrew Cuomo, he of the midnight maneuver that was the over-reaching, anti-gun SAFE Act.

Suozzi shouldn’t be too surprised that there’s a significant segment of his constituency that isn’t familiar with their natural, civil and constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Let alone the fact that the Second Amendment was included in the Bill of Rights by the Founding Fathers specifically as a bulwark against government tyranny. The very same kind of tyranny Suozzi is now warning his historically ignorant constituents about.

This is what happens to a disarmed populace.

But back to the Congressman, who seemed to be advocating violent revolt.

Suozzi political adviser Kim Devlin denied the pol was “advocating for an armed insurrection.”

But the Suozzi campaign at the same time seemed to double down on the comments, as they forwarded a line penned by Thomas Jefferson that called for armed resistance.

“What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms,” the quote said.

Given his impressive, stalwart support for he Second Amendment’s original intent, you’d think he might be chairing the local Friends of the NRA dinner this year. But you’d be wrong.

Suozzi’s comment seems to conflict with his recent push for gun control following the Parkland, Florida, school shooting.

Suozzi even participated in the March 14 student walkout for gun control outside the US Capitol — and called on the young people of his district to back tightened gun laws.

Self-awareness doesn’t seem to be one of the Congressman’s defining characteristics. He’s spent a career working to limit Americans’ Second Amendment rights. But now that there’s someone in the oval office with whom he disagrees, he’s issuing an actual call to arms. Arms that, if he had his way, Americans would have trouble accessing. Karma’s a bitch.

    In his wet dreams.
Most Liberals are gun adverse so not too many will be armed.
Oh, we will have someone write in about how he is Progtard and has guns, but that is the exception and not the rule.

    • Indiana Tom,

“Most Liberals are gun adverse so not too many will be armed.”

That isn’t the problem. The REAL problem is that those Liberals have plenty of cash to pay armed criminals (whether literal criminals from the streets, morally bankrupt mercenaries, or sworn law enforcement) to do their bidding.

Plus, Liberals don’t like to get their hands dirty — literally or figuratively. Yet another reason that will happily pay armed criminals to do their bidding.

    • There are a healthy number of Liberals who own guns.

They don’t let their Leftists friends know they have a gun, for fear of being ostracized.

Here’s the bizarre part – They justify doing it because they believe they are responsible enough to own one.

The rest of the people around them? Hell, no, the shouldn’t have a gun!

All a part of the mental illness of being a ‘Good Progressive’…

      • The anti gun states like Md. have not yet done all they can by way of deterrence .
Make Md. a constitutional carry state any place , there’s not metal detectors and armed security in place , if you legally own a gun in the state, you can carry for legal self defence . THAT will be serious , butt puckering , deturrance. Crime will drop fast or run out of bad guys.
Let that 10,000 a year be bad guys for a change. Harsh ? Sure it is.
IT Focus’s on whom needs deterrence .

    • Most white libbies are gun-averse until something doesn’t go their way, and then they snap and decide to incite a riot or commit a mass shooting.

  2. Let’s be honest here; the state representative for the People’s Democratic Party only wants to see certain people armed. Even then, he will advocate that their personally owned property should be safely secured in an armory controlled by the local representatives for the People’s Democratic Party (“politically reliable” likeminded law enforcement officials overseen by zampolit).

He certainly doesn’t want those ‘uneducated racist country bumpkins in fly-over country’ to be armed. The People’s Democratic Party only wants an armed militia that agrees with their political ideology that can also be controlled and easily disarmed at a later date.

And I’d wager that many of them do not want the black shirted thugs of Antifa to be well armed and organized because they cannot be controlled.

    • Let’s be honest here; the state representative for the Republican Party only wants to see certain people armed. This is true of 99.9% of politicians.
Only their true followers should be able to have and carry firearms.
It is the same old story and until we get “never a democrat” and “never a republican” running for office will we ever see it change.

      • I agree completely. There is no real difference between either party, just look how quickly the ‘Republicans’ of Florida voted to strip rights from law abiding citizens. They both want centralized authority held by Washington D.C. and their unelected bureaucratic proxies. They play the voters off against each other to maintain their power and the status quo.

      • And yet, Republicans aren’t generally trying to pass laws to that effect. Completely out of bounds to claim the Democrats even resemble the Republicans on this issue. The only overlap is in the officials that are essentially ambivalent, and won’t take action to make better for gun owners (which is the majority of both)

  3. Democrats today seem to have this idea they’re owed power. They see their viewpoint as the inevitable future way of things, and any failure of voters to hand them electoral victories as necessarily some sort of perversion of the democratic process. This puts them in this weird schizophrenic position where they keep advocating policy as if they’re running the show, while at the same time insisting that those actually running the show are not just illegitimate, but totalitarian and monstrous.

    • DaveL,

“Democrats today seem to have this idea they’re owed power.”

Democrats have the idea that everyone owes them — all kinds of stuff.

    • Of course; they believe that, by dint of bribing & depriving the population and demographic manipulation, their group has slipped the surely bonds of the proletariate and may operate as it pleases, assured of guaranteed support for all policy decisions. Which is why the vitriol rises to such a fever pitch anymore, whenever they are opposed in any way.

It is the precursor to actual tyrannical abuse of power and purging of the opposition.

  4. Guns are bad, guns are good, the second amendment is bad the second amendment is good.
I know that Leftism is a mental disorder, proven by all the Leftist shooters in GFZ but geez louise make up their friggen minds,.

  5. More gun sales at a time they’re needed? Perfect timing! Armed Antifa -type liberals only need apply?

  6. “NY [FUCKING POS (D) GUN-GRABBER] Democrat Congressman: Take Up Arms to Fight Trump!”

    P L E A S E ! ! !

The vast and silent majority can’t wait to come and fuck your sh_t up.

STILL . . .It’s like second Iraq War, some people need too many reasons.

  7. Tom Suozzi…Things to do:
    1. Get guns
    2. Run Trump out of office
    3. Put Hilary into office
    4. Give guns to Hilary
    5. Live in my new, perfect world

  8. Its hysterical.. Seriously, libs and guns.. That’s like soyboys and penthouse pets in the same bed… Lmao!!!!

  9. He’s right you know…a libtard who actually knows what the 2nd is about. Too bad he’s VASTLY outnumbered😄😎😏

  10. So we need to gun up to counter the threat just spoken by this democrat against our legally elected .gov? Too late. I’m already gunned up.

If the SS/Antifa ever make a concerted move on the legal .gov………

  11. Would those be military style, made for killing people and banned by NY guns that he is wanting his constituents to arm up with, or Nerf guns? Hunting guns won’t work, they are only for killing animals, the 30o’60mm and 3.08 gauge cartridges will bounce right off those meaty Trump fans. He needs some high powered .223 and .9mm talon bullets to blast gaping holes in those deplorables! Maybe the iron pipeline can help?

  12. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Bet Suozzi wouldn’t have suggested the same thing against obama administration.

SERIOUSLY! Just laugh this stuff off.

Some of you must have heavy stock in Malox or something…:-)

  13. A royalist. His subjects may bear militia-arms, but only in the act of fighting and bleeding for his whims. Never for themselves.

  14. Can someone please let me know when dems make up their minds about guns? Guns are bad oh noes no gunz for anyone. Rawr guns for errybody we gots to take down Trump. Seriously I’m gettin sick of the back and forth it’s like watching a bunch of meth addicted schizophrenics playing ping pong while on a 4 day binge.

  15. “Under no pretexts should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary.” -Karl Marx

Aren’t you glad the idiot Cultural Marxists traded their nuggest and hand-nuggets for bricks and feminist diatribes on youtube?

  16. Given the comments I have seen in many forums, do the Leftist know which end the bullet comes out.

  17. Oh, please do, democrats, please do!
At this point, not even the 2nd Amendment can save you.
Do you have the slightest idea how many combat veteran Republicans learned how to make IEDs’ during their deployments?
Please start a shooting war! You won’t be able to see the horizon for all the mushroom clouds.

  18. What makes this progtard think that a call to arms will stop at just the President? All the democrats and republicrats would be in the peoples militia sights as well. Draining the swamp as it were. I dont think that he realizes what a can of worms he is asking for.

  19. Jokes aside he is actually calling for an armed insurrection. That is actual treason against the United States. The Speaker should move foe expulsion on those grounds

  20. This is one reason why I still support President Trump. Because of white democrat liberals like this guy. I can just imagine what the press reaction would have been if a white republican in congress said to take up arms against President Obama.
