Vincent Hancock Takes Men’s Skeet Gold

Successfully defending his Olympic title – not to mention making it a clean sweep for the US – Vincent Hancock won the gold medal in the skeet competition today. He dusted 148 out of 150 birds, set a new Olympic record and beat Denmark’s Anders Golding by two targets. At 23, Hancock was the youngest competitor in the event by five years.

  1. They should have a shoot off between him and the Woman who won just for fun. If I recall correctly, she missed two birds too. Just amazing shooting.

      • It was 74 in the quals (24, 25 & 25) and another 25 (perfect score) in the final which gave a total score of 99 out of 100.
Hancock missed 2 in the quals (98 out of 100) and shot a perfect 25 in the final.
Rhode started her final with a 4 shot lead which would have been hard to overcome. Hancock started his with a 1 point lead. Until the final 3 or 4 stations it was a nail biter. His competition faltered while he stayed perfect. Another awsome display.
And did any of this get mentioned on NBC’s coverage this morning of yesterday’s results? Hell no! Despicable, but not surprising.
