Ohio resident Steven Johnson sends his “Basic Dump” to us via Everyday Carry.

He writes:

Ball cap and light change. Firearm doesn’t go to work. I carry 2 extra mags because that’s what police and military normally carry…just sayin’.  Better to be prepared!

He carries the GLOCK43 in a Sidearm Solutions inside-the-waistband rig.  With two spare mags because…  well, that’s what the po-po carries.  Good call, although the single-stack G43 isn’t exactly high cap.

Throw in a light, blade and a multi-tool and he’s ready for anything.

  1. I cant carry to work either, it sucks….I have other resources and skills/training available but I would rather my pistol.

  2. Two spare mags. I like him already. Never had an armed confrontation where I felt like I brought too much ammunition. How does he carry the spare mags. Just curious. Solid carry.

  3. I have been toting a 43 as well. I like it.

Kudos on the Ghost plastic mag extension. I really like mine.

They have decent texture and little flares at the bottom to strip it. All for less than 10 bucks.

He may carry them in a pocket like I do.

    • I have the 43X and I love it! Full purchase on the grip, 10 rounds, with 2 spare 15 rounds. I can deal with that.

      • I’ve got a 48. I really like it, but it is harder for me to conceal than my 43 with the magazine extension.

Great guns though. I do like the grip. My favorite Glock for shooting.

  4. “The Basic Army-Guy Dump”

If there’s one thing an Army guy in basic can do, it’s dump.

    (I’ll get my coat… 🙂 )
