  1. Basically like Springfield’s rebate, but instead you get two less magazines and two boxes of ammo.

Yeah, I’ll pass. If this were a rebate where S&W sent me a check in the mail after a few months, I’d think about it.

    • Yeah, I’d rather just have $180 rebate. Thought I was going to pick up another M&P, then saw the details. No thanks.

  2. I’m never a fan of mail-in rebates (or their modern equivalents). First, they need everything short of three duplicate receipts and a stool sample to even complete the form. Then, it seems like there’s always a 6-10 month wait to actually receive the rebate, which is just inexplicable to me.

Just give me a discount at the register with presentation of a valid coupon. That’s my kind of promotion.

    • Actuaries know how many people won’t fill that stuff out, and that allows S&W to offer more of a rebate than they could afford if everyone took them up on it. This is to the advantage of the buyer who will fill that out and wait. You do have to take into account the cost of your time and lost opportunity while waiting in your decision, but if it’s something you want, put in a little extra effort and enjoy.

  3. Didn’t know about their dismal rebate record until I’d already bought a shield. Saw an apology online already although the rebates are available for 30 more days.

  4. An M&P, a first gen one at that….oh joy……..

They should be paying me to take it off their hands…..

    • It applies to the entire M&P pistol line, eh. Heck, the lead photo shows and specifies in big text a 2.0. You’re a strange duck, sir.

  5. And I promised the wife I wouldn’t buy more guns this summer…had my eye on a 45Shield. Quit whining about the rebate. I see lots have gotten them on FB…

  6. I don’t need what they’re offering. I would rather just have a cash rebate. Walther has a $100 rebate on ppq m2 and pps m2. Just picked up a pps m2 for about $325 after rebate. That’s what I’m talk’n about.

  7. A decent set of accessories. Nothing like the absolutely useless holster and awful super stiff mag carrier Springfield offered.

Is the pistol loader any good? I use a maglula.

  8. Hmmm…just bought a Shield due to the $75 rebate…may have to get full-size 2.0 now…maybe

  9. Well done S&W! I’m sure I could buy those three items for less than $180 but it’s still a pretty good deal. I want a M&P Shield 9.

    • Shot a Shield for the first time a few days ago. I must say I was impressed. Nice little shooter. This seems like a pretty good deal to me, if only for the extra mags.

  10. The rebate described above only applies to non-10 round limited states.

For CA, IL, NY and several other gun-unfriendly states, there’s a separate rebate for just $75.

When you go to the rebate site listed above, when you put in your state you get the appropriate offer.
