The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms and ammunition industry, today congratulates President-Elect Donald Trump on his historic victory.
The American people have spoken. We have elected a president who has pledged to protect our Constitutional rights and a majority of both houses of Congress that will work to ensure that our individual right to keep and bear arms will be preserved.
The work of those who love liberty and our nation’s hunting and shooting traditions is never over. Americans need to remain involved to help ensure that the defense of our Second Amendment remains strong and the lawful commerce in firearms is protected at all levels of government.
We thank all those Americans who supported NSSF’s 2016 #GUNVOTE voter education and registration initiative. We know that we can count on you. You should know that we remain steadfast in our mission to help promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports.
Celebrate today, but don’t get complacent. This is a fight that will not end with one election.

This morning Fox was covering Paul Ryan answering questions for the press, when they cut away for Hilliary’s bye-bye speech, and I was offended. Excuse me, Ryan is Speaker of the House, and Hilliary is (wait for it) … absolutely nobody.
The congress and senate haven’t gone ~ anywhere, and we are still stuck with the evil POS (D) electorate. Again, thanks for the map NYT.

Looking at Trump’s margins of victory, I’d say that the NSSF, NRA, SAF and other gun rights organizations may have won this election, as did the POTG.
Especially in PA and Wisconsin, the pro-gun vote had to have been a major factor. Ohio too I guess.
I know myself personally and multiple friends here in pa who voted trumps solely for the sake of gun rights. If it wasn’t for that, Johnson would have gotten a few more votes.
I am a PA voter. While never considering Hillary, I was very disappointed that the Republican choice fell to Donald Trump. I voted for Cruz in the primary. I struggled between voting for Johnson, Trump and just voting the down ticket elections. I voted for Johnson in 2012, but when he chose Weld for his running mate this time around, I dismissed him from consideration. If he couldn’t take gun rights seriously enough to not pick a gun banner, I couldn’t seriously consider him either not even as a protest vote. A couple of weeks ago it looked hopeless that he would take PA, but on the day of the election, it finally looked close enough with the SC hanging in the balance, and to the horror of the rest of my family, I decided to be a deplorable and vote for Trump.
For the country’s sake, I hope he puts together a good team that will undo the damage of the last 16 years and stay the fuck off Twitter.
My wife has never been more fired up about an election. She knew only too well that a vote for Hildebeast meant that her recently and enthusiastically embraced 2nd Amendment rights would go away. She made a point of making sure we were at the local polling place before they opened.
Loved the enthusiasm, but an extra hour of sleep wouldn’t have hurt all that much…..

I’m surprised by the relief I feel with this result, actually. I hope that he keeps his promise and appoints a Scalia-type justice to the Supreme Court. Hopefully the laws that the statists have been foisting on us here in Washington state can eventually be struck down.
He better be held to his promises of being pro 2a. The republicans will have house, senate and white house, nfa needs to go away and national permitless carry needs to be brought about. They need to reaffirm that 2a leaves no room for any state to violate it. Obamacare needs to go away, taxes need to go down, drug war and irs targeting need to go as well. He has a chance to be the best president this nation has ever seen, or the worst, so dont hold your breath.
He certainly can upend P44s executive orders, however, without a super-majority in both houses getting some things passed will stall.
Getting in a handful of new Supreme Court Justices (assuming a few more leave during his term) in place would be a huge win though.
And remember, without NFA, there is no reason for ATF. Wrap it up.
They should call the repeal bill “Terry’s Law”, because (one of) the law(s) the ATF was claiming as the reason for Fast and Furious was the NFA.
Government agencies will only be punished by a loss of power.

I’m hoping you’re thinking gradual, rather than just thinking small. The entirety of NFA was unconstitutional, yet the only challenge was $5 tax on sawed off shotgun. It needs to be repealed in its entirety.
Repeal would be nice, but I’d take $5 for a tax stamp and a two week issuing period as a starting point.
Then when nothing happens we have a serious argument for full repeal. In the meantime getting toys is much easier.
Oh, and rewrite the GOPA to allow for new MGs…

Just a warning. Looking at the exit poll results, Trump won on the backing of the older generation, not the younger. If the PotG are tied to Trump, then the future may easily reverse in as short as two years… we have a lot of work to do.

We honestly have Hillary and her message to thank for Trump winning. Hillary made the mistake of labeling everyone and anyone not voting for her as a bunch misogynistic racist deplorables. That tends to piss people off who aren’t misogynists, racists, etc.
People voting for Trump were simply voting for a non-career politician. Obama was all talk on the 2A and was blocked by Congress when trying to pass BS legislation, whereas past Clintons actually banned guns. And with how bad the anti-gunners have been exposed and their concepts of gun control being complete and utter failures, it pretty much disqualifies anyone running for office that is for gun control.
The realization is finally happening where the majority of Americans and even the media is starting to begrudgingly acknowledge that violence is perpetrated by evil people and that good people stop bad people with guns successfully and often. There are too many stories to filter out and the mainstream media knows “gun control” is losing favor with an increasingly educated public.
So yeah. We didn’t want an overtly bitter and corrupt politician and student of Obama as the next President. And sorry, we’re not ashamed of that. No one is saying Trump is a saint nor excusing all the foot-in-mouth comments he makes. But Hillary was going to erode the Constitution, 2A, and would have been deadset towards a tyrannical path for America. Guaranteed.
The main difference being anything Trump tries to do that is not good for the country would be hard for him to do because he’s not a politician, and that is in the People’s favor. Whereas Hillary is a dirty politician and knows all the tricks to stay out of jail (pun intended) and would have succeeded in damaging this country far more in the short and long run.
With control of both the House and the Senate, there is no excuse for failing to pass national CCW reciprocity and repealing the NFA.
I would also like to see relief on ammunition bans (i.e. in NJ you can’t carry hollowpoints even if you somehow get a CCW) as well as AWBs.
GOP, you promised a lot. Now is the time to deliver.
