At the foundation of the new M&P Performance Center Ported and Performance Center M&P C.O.R.E. pistol resides a specialized mounting platform on top of the slide that can be conveniently changed to match the desired optic. Five removable brackets allow the user to simply install the corresponding mounting screws to achieve the precise fit and height required. Designed to work in conjunction with the Trijicon RMR, C-More STS, Leupold DeltaPoint, Docter, Insight MRDS and J-Point, both M&P models offer quick and custom sight installation for the industry’s most popular aftermarket red-dot sight manufacturers.

Engineered as a true competition platform, each firearm model retains original design features including a polymer frame with a through-hardened stainless steel slide and barrel, ambidextrous operating controls, striker-fired action and a durable, corrosion resistant finish. For improved handling, both the M&P Performance Center Ported and Performance Center M&P C.O.R.E. feature a new textured interchangeable back strap with prominent stippling. Three patented palmswell grips are supplied with each pistol, providing shooters the ability to tailor the grip size to their personal preference.

The M&P Performance Center Ported pistol and Performance Center M&P C.O.R.E. are each standard with a Performance Center sear, providing improved accuracy and precise shot placement by way of the enhanced trigger design. • Would require an entire reworking of the pistol as the 9mm or 40 are significantly shorter. This could be built from a 45 ACP M&P though as the 45 is just a little longer than a 10mm. Good luck though, Id love to have an M&P chambered in 10mm, but people in hell want ice water too.

Might as well just buy a Sig 220 chambered in 10mm if you dont want a Glock.

  1. Wouldn’t porting a barrel intended to be used with a suppressor defeat the purpose of having it threaded for a suppressor in the first place?

Hot expanding gasses would still be exiting the ports before the pressure in the barrel drops and would be directed out into the air rather than into the suppressor where they can expand and cool in a contained environment. Am I wrong?

Maybe they really intend the threaded and ported performance center model to be used with other accessories like additional compensators such as the Lantac Dragon for 9mm. That would be pointless but would look sick.

  2. For the price? That’s really not bad. threaded/ported barrel and slide, optics ready, suppressor height sights, and upgraded trigger for about $850 street is pretty cool.

    • No, from the press release. I missed it the first time reading through.

The M&P Performance Center Ported pistol and Performance Center M&P C.O.R.E. are each standard with a Performance Center sear, providing improved accuracy and precise shot placement by way of the enhanced trigger design. The M&P Performance Center Ported pistol has been further enhanced with a factory ported barrel and slide as well as a user-adjustable trigger stop.

      • It looks like the guns mentioned are Performance Center guns (standard 4.25″ models with gunsmithing) and have red dot cutouts and threaded or ported barrels. What HAS been out for years is the M&P PRO C.O.R.E. (5″ barrel with red dot cutouts) which does not have a threaded barrel. They are adding a PRO C.O.R.E. w/ threaded barrel also.

  3. timmies can show off to their buddies as they press check the crap out of those things. Man you could totally rack the slide off your belt or boot in case your hands are bloody from being a keyboard commando.

  4. I’m a hard core Smith & Wesson weenie, but even I can tell that its new offerings are approaching a Glock level of ugliness.

  5. The $175 for an “extra ” barrel which is threaded is $50 or so cheaper than buying an aftermarket threaded barrel. Good for the price if you want another pistol. Otherwise cheaper to buy aftermarket parts for the one you have.

  6. I called Smith and Wesson today and talk to one of their sales reps from our shop. He told me the only gun that comes with a spare barrel is the four and a quarter inch Version That comes with a threaded barrel and a regular barrel the only ported barrel they have is the 5 inch and it does not come threaded Just due to the fact that a ported barrel cannot be suppressed unless the suppressor runs the entire length of the barrel which they consider internally suppressed like the MP5SD. So the only one that you can get a ported barrel on is a 5 inch gun I just order one 3 days ago should be here today Or tomorrow rather I guess it’s almost tomorrow now Lol. But I can’t wait to get it I paid $706 I believe for it It’s an M&P 9 millimeter 5 inch barrel With A spot for a red dot sight What I call silencer sites that are raised up to co witness with the Trijicon RMR that I’m going to be putting on it But it’s a nice gun it says Performance Center on the left side as well. Instead of pro model Like the other ones the four and a quarter inch Barrels say Just a heads up for everybody that was interested in it But Smith and Wesson does not even list Deported 5 inch barreled model on their website

  7. D 4.25 inch Barrel gun Is the only one that comes with two barrels one threaded one not threaded Its like the commander series 1911 If you are familiar with that size Pistol and the 1911. The 5 inch gun is the only one that is ported
