After a brutal assault on three men in the alliteratively enhanced Bath Beach section of the borough of Brooklyn, New York is looking for answers. “Police say the 15-year-old boy (not pictured above) was arrested Monday as a juvenile on assault charges. No weapon was recovered, but police say darts were found in the teen’s apartment. Investigators believe the assailant may have used a blow gun.” The washingtonpost.com report doesn’t indicate whether the pneumatically gifted juvy used an assault clip to hold his cache of darts, but it won’t be long now before IDs are required to pick up a length of PVC pipe a Lowe’s in the Big Apple. To quote another dedicated protector of the public welfare, when it comes to restricting access to dangerous lung-powered weaponry, it’s just so crystal clear, there is no debate, no discussion.

  1. Bloomberg: ‘thankfully none of those three men, who will recover, had guns to shoot back otherwise dozens of innocent people in the area might have been shot’.

  2. This headline made me picture Mike Bloomberg, in a pith helmet, looking worried. Ill be giggling for the rest of the afternoon.

  3. I remember a Bronson film in which he’s trapped by some bad guys in a locked room. Rendered gunless, he disassembles a floor lamp, and uses its pole to make a homemade blowgun, which he uses rather effectively (of course).

  4. Pretty good example of why we can never give an inch to the antis. It’s not about guns, it’s about control. Once they’re done with one inanimate object, they’ll go after another in their desperate, insane attempt to control everyone’s lives around them.

  5. Blow guns have been specifically banned in California at least as I’ve lived here–even authentic African blow guns. Why is a good question for which I have no answer. Probably for the same reason that silencers and suppressors are banned–to prevent murderers lying in wait.

    • When I inquired about the ban here, they said it was because it is illegal to shoot endangered ducks.
I honestly wish I was making that up.

It just makes so much sense, with all those drive-by blowgun attacks that they would get banned. Oh wait…

  6. They need common sense blow hard control.

I at one time had kids shooting lead sinkers with a wrist rocket at me. Those things did a heck of a number on the house.
