I think we’ve got something of a genre here: stupid people teaching stupid people how to shoot guns with only a passing mention of firearms safety (point it that way). OK, maybe the girl isn’t stupid. Just young and impressionable. Which makes this “introduction” to the joys of long guns even more lamentable. She may consider the end result “fucking awesome,” but she missed a chance to imprint gun safety into her subconscious mind. And what of ear or eye protection? And I am alone in thinking that there were a LOT of ways this could have gone very badly wrong? Hmmm. I wonder if her Daddy’s got a shotgun and how he would feel about this video clip.
Along with some good flicks we watched, Have You Heard About the Morgans? this weekend. Hugh Grant was his usual self, but Sarah Jessica Parker was dull and the urban vs country jibes were entirely unoriginal. And there was a scene where Mary Steenburgen and Sam Elliot gave them shooting lessons, completely without hearing protection.
