I own a Romy-G AKM, and I do not think I have ever had that much trouble getting a magazine in the thing…even with synthetics. He might need to practice a little more before his next competition.
The best thing about those big banana mags is that you can actually beat the crap out of a BG with one of ’em even if you can’t get it to work in the gun.
7.62×39 AKs don’t work well with vertical foregrips and 30-round magazines at the same time, because the grip gets in the way of the reload. If you have a vertigrip, consider using a 20-round AMD-65 magazine, or use an AK-74 and its less-curved mags.
Imagine this rifle with the Smiley Face Magazine. ROTFLMAO. At least the guy wouldn’t have had to reload..
This dude needs a bit more practice before he aspires to YouTube stardom.
I compensated for that on my AKM by chopping my fore grip in half. I have no issues at all with changing magazines now, and the half size fore grip still provides a great deal of extra control when firing rapidly.
Not to pick a fight RF, but on AKs don’t you have to switch the safety lever down before pulling back the bolt? Can’t chamber a round with the safety on. That’s at least true for my WASR-10 and AMD-65.
Oh yes. Uh. RIght. Text amended.
I have a few questions. Isn’t it illegal to take off the folding stock? Why did the RSO end up between the shooter and the target as he ran back? why wasn’t that pistol cleared and reholstered before the RSO went down range to score the targets? Why was the shooter handling a weapon while the RSO was down range? As for the 1st mag change, it was obvious he was new to the weapon, just like he apparently doesn’t know if you are a right handed shooter ya put the spare mags on the left side of your body.
Is there any way to deprogram everyone involved — simply wipe their brains clean of all alleged gun knowledge amassed so far — and start over from scratch?

Or is it just me? Did a black helicopter come down with a crew to update the implant and block this video from me?
