The 2014 SHOT Show kicks off Monday with Media Day at the Range. After that testing and evaluation OD, there’s four days of industry madness. Once again, some 60k firearms folk will gather in Sin City to do deals, chew the fat and try to convince their wives they’re schmoozing with gun guys while they’re at the Hard Rock for the AVN porn conference. And TTAG will be there. The SHOT Show, I mean. In force. I’ve got our A-Team on the job: Chris, Nick, Dan, Jeremy, Barry and Joe. OK, Joe’s more of an epic poet than a blogger. I’ll blog a bit but I’m gonna be busy signing-up exhibitors for the Texas International Firearms Festival. Suffice it to say, content and lots of it. Meanwhile, I’m pleased to report that TTAG ranked 44th on wideopenspaces.com‘s list of the top 50 firearms industry Twitter accounts to follow. [Click here to do so.] As always, thank you for making all this possible. As Paul Harvey said, stand by for news!
A-Team. Which ones nuts? Which one did you have to tranq to get on the plane? Gun guys comparing themselves to the A-Team doesn’t inspire confidence. I don’t think those guys ever hit anything they shot at.
Irrespective of the rationale for shooting, I shake my head at the tactics the officers use routinely when a shooting occurs. The officer in front of the camera is shooting at such an angle that a ricochet could easily fly towards officers behind the suspect car. And the officers to the side of the car are shooting directly at each other. The officer in front of the camera completely abandoned cover to fire at the car, exposing his entire body in the process. At the end of the video I think you see the officers behind the car waving the officer in front of the car away. I would not be surprised to find damage to the following vehicle from the first officers ricochets.
And where, pray tell, in Texas will this glorious sounding festival be taking place? Please say San Antone so I don’t have to drive anywhere.
Maybe they can just designate a “Suicide Lane” for those who wish to end it all. It can be enclosed and even have a garden hose hooked up to clean up the mess.
If I recall correctly IOF is the only firearms manufacturer in India, with a government supported monopoly. This is what happens when you do not allow competition in an industry, bad products at ridiculous prices. They also had issues purchasing firearms for their military where, quelle surprise, they got overpriced junk. They’re looking to foreign companies to arm their military now.
Thank god newspapers are in their death throes. The end of the editorial page is long over due.
McKinney population – 143,223 (2012) is NOT small town. Big city hive dwelling drones.
Small town is pop under 2500 or so, perhaps under 500. If you prefer. The real world/backbone of America.
Plattsburgh is a college town, I know, I went there. Kinda of not surprised an opinion like this showed up in the editorials even with name of Press-Republican.
“We said we would NY safer and we did” I started laughing as I read this and I kept chuckling as I type this.
Hooray for Texas!
