Self-defense is a fundamental human right. It proved critical north of Philly as pair of future brain surgeons walked into a pizza joint north of Philadelphia and pointed their guns at the two employees and a customer. Levittown Now:
Two employees were inside Porfirio’s II Pizza and the customer was standing inside when the two robbers, both of whom were armed with handguns, entered the shop around 10 p.m., police said.
“The two male robbers apparently told the employees and the customer to get on the ground. They began pistol-whipping the customer. At that point, the customer produced a handgun and shot both of the robbers,” Bartorilla told reporters just before midnight Tuesday.
The deceased robber was shot in the chest and the seriously injured robber was shot in the shoulder and the neck, the chief said.
The customer who shot the robbers with a Glock handgun was not seriously hurt, Bartorilla said, adding the man was speaking with detectives.
This un-named concealed carry holder’s remarkable ability to keep his wits about him and then put good hits on both target after getting beaten earns him TTAG’s Gun Hero of the Day. Nice job, sir. We wish you a speedy recovery from your injuries. Meanwhile, one wonders how many late night pizza joint employees are armed in their own defense. Not enough.
I wonder how he scored two hits and left unscathed after the criminals had the drop on him. Were they unloaded? Were they toys? Did they lack the courage of their convictions?

The attackers indeed may have lacked the conviction to fire on the victims. I doubt the attacker’s pistols were toys if the attackers used them to pistol whip one of the victims. (A toy pistol would probably break and would not be a good choice for pistol whipping.)
Even more relevant, some police study found that something like 45% of the firearms that criminals used for armed robberies were non-functional for one reason or another. Some were broken. Some were jammed. Some had dead ammunition. Some had the wrong ammunition or the ammunition loaded backwards. When you couple that fact with the fact that victims who resist suffer fewer injuries than victims who comply, it becomes a no-brainer whether or not to resist an armed robbery — especially if you have a working handgun of your own.
You are assuming that whoever wrote the story understands the meaning of “pistol whipping”, and did not just stick it in because it sounded like horrible gun stuff.
They were toys… see below.
Airsoft gun,
Darwin takes another
Man, the two clowns who pistol-whipped the pizza man must really hate pepperoni.
Anyway, if legal carriers keep on shooting bad guys, the Democrats won’t have any voters left alive.
Don’t fret, they will still vote. Early and often.
That’s why I wrote “voters left alive.”
Do you know how many dead Dumbocrats still vote?–Thousands if not more-being actually dead is only a technicality–this is why they fight photo ID’s so hard for voting–they want people voting more than once & the dead voting
When people are young, they tend to vote democrat.
As they age, they start voting republican.
When they die, they vote democrat again.
😀
Classic!
But but but but . . . Shannon says this NEVER happens, so it must just be an urban myth!
Um, there’s one more little twist to this story. The robbers? They were carrying airsoft guns.

Pistol whipping was a really bad idea then:-)
Especially pistol whipping a guy with a real gun!
Play stupid games win stupid prizes
Some AirSoft handguns are incredibly realistic. Given the extreme stress of the situation, the extremely compressed time scale, and quite possibly less than fantastic lighting, it would be easy to conclude that a realistic AirSoft pistol was a real handgun.
As for the armed robbers: play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
And the fact that you’ve got “Replica” written down the side of your guns…
And the fact that I’ve got “Desert Eagle point five O” written down the side of mine…
Somebody had to post it.
Guess we know who had the big brave balls.
So? Why is that a “twist” to the story?
It changes nothing, except to panty twisting anti-gunners who seem to think 20/20 hindsight from the future is the way to make decisions in life threatening situations.
The guy was being beaten by two assailants. He defended himself. End of story.
I never said or implied that delegitimized the self defense in any way. It simply explains how a guy was able to win against two already drawn gins and that had they been real guns it could have ended much worse. Take a fucking xanax.
That means the two attackers are now “children who have been victimized by gun violence!”
This might not settle the 9mm vs. .45 debate, but pretty conclusively decides the .45 vs. 6mm one.
Obviously NOT .45; one of the ijits survived, but obviously we don’t know if his soul was ripped from his body.
AirSoft lives matter.
AWESOME!!! I think the victim should sue the surviving knucklehead for pain and anguish. Of course, the bum has nothing to take – even any potential dignity was stripped away…
Air soft lives matter! That gave me a laugh, thanks!
Of course it was. It was a .45 the guy used. It also ripped a hole in the fabric of space.
That gave me an actual laugh out loud.
clearly a .45….lauched the bad guy right out of the pizza parlor. See, movies don’t lie.
I keep seeing police reports where someone “produced a firearm”. Wish I could produce a firearm that quickly. Sure would save a lot of money buying them.
It beats the ones where they say the shooter ‘went and got’ or ‘was able to go retrieve’ or whatever other nonsense they spout. I’ve never understood why they can’t say he/she drew his/her gun. It’snlike they want everyone to think that a gun isn’t something you keep on your person.
Be nice, now, there were a lot of decades in my life where an ability to carry legally did not exist in most states, including here in Texas. Reporters learned pretty fast that before you could shoot someone, you had to somehow obtain a gun, since of course, if you already had it on you, you might get arrested. Hence the report was automatically “retrieved”, or “produced”, or whatever, rather than the ever popular “drewandfired” (always one word, allow no space between them).
I wish he had killed both. There’s a lower recidivism rate when they’re dead.
NEXT!
Agreed, Captain. It’s always a better story when all the perps are taken away in body bags. Still, good handgun control to shoot them both while being pistol whipped…excuse me, while being airsoft pistol whipped.
I just wish DRT removed them from voter registration automatically.
I think you meant to write two brain sturgeons, not surgeons.
The DA has already cleared the shooter of any charges. A photo of his gun is in the link. Looks like a G30. Homeboy took a .45 slug to the neck and survived. Props where its due…
http://levittownnow.com/2016/11/16/no-charges-for-customer-who-shot-brothers-during-botched-robbery-pizza-ship-levittown-pa/
Glad everything turned out good.
If I went to the pizza shop and got beat up by two miscreants and shot both of them, killing one, I would be so upset if, after all that, I didn’t get my large, double cheese, ground beef, onion and mushroom pie, that I’d probably track down the bum who survived and shoot him again.
Sounds quite justifiable.
I just saw this on MSNBC. NOT.
If they had just took the money and ran without assaulting anyone maybe they wouldn’t have even gotten shot.
^ Hannibal, very wise. Maybe robbing without battery would have yielded a better result. We’ll never know.
Wonder: has the DA charged the surviving attempted armed robber with offenses yet?
Watch, the family of one of the ‘misunderstood’ so-called ‘suspects’ will file suit – naming the restaurant and the customer.
PA has a stand your ground law (legal to defend yourself anywhere you have a legal right to be) & a blockage from the perp themselves or family from even filing a law suit–some southern states have even stronger laws
