As Corey writes, “Currently studying Intro to GIS (Geographic Information Systems) at UNT. All the essentials for thorough note taking, studying, navigation, safety, and a little geocaching on the side. Campus Carry in full effect.” God bless Texas. Check out Corey’s gear at Everyday Carry . . .

  1. I think it’s more important to carry “field notes” than a firearm. A firearm is secondary – field notes – top priority.

    • Yup and gotta make sure they’re ‘field notes’ and not, you know, a notepad from wal mart.

Can’t write notes in the field in those.

(here ‘the field’ is apparently a classroom)

      • Yes, enough with this “Field Notes” garbage on this site. It stinks of “setup” to me. Another fad I’m missing out on?

        • FN show up for a reason: they do not fall apart after months being scrunched into a back pocket and exposed to butt sweat. No other pocket notebook holds up as well, including moleskin. I, and others, are open to suggestions for alternatives with the same performance (after all, isn’t that what EDC is about?). And no, WalMart/Target/Walgreens do not qualify.

  2. If anybody ever thought ammo has been expensive, wait til you have to buy that ArcGIS software.

  3. Woo hoo! As an alumnus of UNT (I actually started there when it was NTSU), I gotta say, “Go Eagles!”
