The Virginia gubernatorial race is the most important for the people of the gun tonight. Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe has been heavily endorsed by Michael Bloomberg and Moms Demand Action, as well as other gun control advocacy groups, pumping millions of dollars into his campaign and running misleading and false advertising all over the state. And yet, here we are on election night, and with 76% of the districts reporting in, Republican candidate Ken Cucinelli has a three point lead. We will keep you guys updated as the results come in, but what was a 15 point lead for the Democrat appears to have disintegrated nearly overnight. Bloomberg and MDA expected this to be a huge win for them tonight, but it isn’t shaping up quite the way they hoped. Again.
Fingers crossed, and I (clearly) don’t even live there. Have both friends and family that do, though, so there’s that.
Sooo… if a person driving a car decides to run over some people at an airport, does that mean everyone driving a car at any other airport is suddenly an “a$$hole”, maniac, or automatically a bad driver because they drive a car?
Guilt and judgement by association? Is that how it works?
Does that logic make any sense to a rational, reasonable person?
And I suppose you don’t realize this but what you are doing by literally screaming at strangers at an airport that aren’t doing anything illegal is you are projecting your personal fears and hatred of a specific murderer on an adult and his child who are not in any way shape or form associated with said murderer, for no other reason than the fact they are legally carrying a firearm at an airport.
Do you treat everyone with legal firearms the same way? Police? Military? If not, why not? At least then your illogical hoplophobia would be consistent. The fact you’re only hateful towards civilians with firearms just tells me you have a distinct lack of knowledge and ability to tell the difference between friend and foe. And that, is your PERSONAL problem to reconcile along with your willful ignorance and infantile use of profanity in your post.
In one breath you acknowledge they didn’t break any laws by carrying firearms and in the next you chastise them for it. Hypocrite much?
My advice: Think before you post.
It’s way, WAY, too early to call it. Fairfax hasn’t fully reported.
I have shot two guns before Hollywood style for the shits and giggles, but never had a problem lile the author is talking about. It’s shit accuracy because you don’t hold them in a manner conducive to accuracy, but I have never come close to pulling the wrong trigger or had a hard time knowing which one was about to go bang. I don’t really see how a normal and intelligent person would have either of those issues.
go wings.
Its going to be over when NOVA is fully reported. I’m so confused as to why any self respecting gun owner and Virginian could vote for a democrat after all the lies. I guess VA is not what I thought it was. As a proud Virginian Im very discouraged.
Its tight.
I have it on pretty good authority that McAuliffe has carried the illegal vote, felon vote, Disney character vote, Marvel Comic character vote, welfare vote and by a 899:1 margin – the dead vote.
Get ready for some late “found” ballets.
3,000 vote difference with 88% reporting. My professional opinion: it’s REALLY REALLY close.
McAuliffe now ahead by a hair with 91% reporting in. Looks like Sarvis may throw it to the Democrats. Still, the closeness of it has to have the Dems a little worried. They thought this would be a blow out. Republicans will probably hold the state house and may even get AG.
Bad, but not as bad as it could have been.
Yeah that’s the way this one is lookin. Disappointing as it may be.
Pretty sure they will not be able to get any anti-gun legislation passed. Especially if we maintain control of the house.
Fairfax county and all of it’s government employees like Chuck in IL said is going to carry the race most likely by a small margin for mcauliffe

As a Federal employee I am here to tell you we don’t ALL vote Democrat/Liberal. I have a great number of friends and coworkers who are pro-gun, pro small government, and many of us, in fact, supported the government shutdown despite the face we were directly affected.
Thank you.
Yep. Sarvis threw it to McAuliffe.
Pretty much.
But at least libertarians got to stroke their ego by voting for the pretend libertarian so that’s a win right??? Right????
Good news, the billion dollar tax hike in Colorado is dead.
hard to tell what that thing is. stock looks funky.
Blooberg bought VA. 4 times the money spent barely pulled it out.
Sarvis voters – enjoy your new gun control laws. Hope you like magazine restrictions, universal background checks on every gun sales or loan, and a brand new assault weapons ban.
Way to send a message.
Leather underwear? Eeeeewwww.
I’m still not as disgusted by this as the results of the VA gubernatorial race though.
Well there goes Virginia gun rights and any hopes of them.
I grew up in Birdsboro (10 mi away), & my parents said the shooter (like the man in the Thun Trail incident) is being called a hero in the local news. I agree, & they agree: he is. They threatened to take a life, & they unfortunately lost their chance to pursue their own life, liberty & happiness, so fuck ’em. Minus two assholes.
impressive…..
Anybody remember this from earlier in the year? Major Obama bundler and anti-gun Huffington Post writer buying up all the gun rags. You haven’t heard from G&A because they’ve been turned into a cancer.
Know your enemy.

What Mr Metcalf did was tacitly agree with how things are done in his home state of Illinois, or Ill Annoy, which is the best way to pronounce that state’s name. There are many many great folks from that state who are balanced, rational and don”t buy the Chicago/Springfield BS as it has come out of the barrel bung.
Judging from what I have see of Mr Metcalf on the television program G and A, and from his prior writings, I was stunned and repulsed by his highly incorrect interpretation of the 2nd Amend. He fails to recognized that at the time of the writing of the Constitution, the mere ownership of what the Brits would have deemed ‘well-regulated’ was enough to go to jail. He fails also to note that, as with the Rangers, who were fielded irregulars, the Colonial defintion of ‘well-regulated’ meant maintained in good working order, ready for use and trained in that use. The Militia were commoners, irregulars, not government regulated and apportioned troops. By his interpretation of the right, the 2nd Amen was more as privilege, subject to approval by government at some level.
The Constitution was about Natural Law, and God given not governement granted privileges. Mr Metcalf missed this entirely. Which is the greater point: his state views gun ownership as a malleable and regulated privilege. Mr Metcalf sees righrs as all being infringed, and that is also part of the problem: he is used to regulation and has grown accustomed to the bridle and bit.
Mr Metcalf needed to go,and is gone as of the latest I read. God riddance. Now he can join other celebrity posers with guns: John Kerry and AlGore.
