We’ve reviewed Black Rain Ordnance’s firearms before, and they have fared very favorably. Which is to say that I loved it and dreaded the day it needed to go back. Now, BRO is introducing their Model 602, a bolt action rifle based on an action that BRO has designed from the ground up. Everything from the barrel shank to the bolt face has been designed by BRO to their specs, and there’s a ton of customizable features.

The rifles aren’t even complete yet — this is a prototype, serial number one — but they should ship sometime this year. If they’re anywhere near as accurate as their rifles this should be a friggin’ laser beam. The gun will be chambered in .308 Win initially, with .300 Win Mag and .338 Lapua en route. Initial price should be right around $2,800.

    • I don’t know about that. Looks like it would be awful fun to shoot. .300 Win Mag sounds about right.

  1. No, no, no. It doesn’t look like something out of Star Wars, isn’t assembled out of widely-spaced black plastic chunks with ‘alien’ ribbing, and doesn’t have at least three rails.

    It’ll never sell.

  2. Yup. 300 win mag would do it.
Now if they can give a reasonable guarantee on accuracy. Then throw on one of those hunter supressors. Nice package.

  3. I like the dude in the background of the first picture pounding down an energy drink. I’ve never been to SHOT but I imagine I’d be living off those by the later days 🙂

  4. I love my bro pg 13 is crazy accurate.and I put a trijicon accu point on I pray for that stag to come walking across the creek, ill blow him inhalf.I can shoot a flea of a nats ass.very nice riflr.I wanna see the sbr w/-7.5 barrel and a 7″ monorail on it all digitan.even the barrel digitan, even do the stock buy it now contact meand ill pay for it

  5. How about chambering in 7mm Remington Magnum? Still a great and fairly inexpensive round thats effective past 1000m.
