The Grand Canyon state has made a grand gesture: elevating the Colt Single Action Revolver to its official state gun (hence the Germanic capitalization thing). The move makes Arizona the second state to designate a handgun as their official firearm, after Utah gave the nod to native John Moses Browning’s immortal M1911. According to azcentral.com, Governor Jan Brewer signed the required legislation without comment. The newspaper was equally tight-lipped, save pointing out that Connecticut-based Colt lobbied for the bill and the fact that Democratic Rep. Albert Hale called the gun an instrument of destruction that was used against Native Americans. I guess he thought Colt was being ironic when they called the Single Action Army Model P “The Peacemaker.”

  1. The comments at the AZCentral link are a riot. Perhaps unintentionally funny, but I got quite a few laughs there.

  2. People are arriving independently at the Walker Colt for Texas and an organized movement has taken place.

  3. I guess NYC , DC, and Chicago can squabble over the Glock with the side-mounted “gangsta” sights.

  4. Jersey’s state firearm is the throw down pistol. .32 caliber, grip wrapped with tape, serial number filed off. Think Michael Corleone coming out of the bathroom holding it down at his side and you have it.

  5. It is perfect time to make some plans for the longer term and
it is time to be happy. I have read this put up and if I may

I want to read even more things about it!

confident Pharrell’s collaboration in NBA 2K15 will impress players as much as it’s
impressed us. You are going to need at least that
long to see the difference that they will make. Where are hockey player workouts or basketball player workouts.
