Feistritz, Austria – Ritter & Stark GmbH, an Austrian-based firearms design and manufacturing company, will be exhibiting at the IWA Outdoor Classics 2017 exhibition March 3 – 6, in Nuremberg, Germany. The IWA Outdoor Classics is one of the world’s largest trade fairs for hunting, shooting sports, and civilian and professional security. Ritter & Stark will not only display the SX-1 Modular Tactical Rifle (MTR), but will continue their tradition of presenting new products at IWA for the very first time.
Building on the success of the SX-1, R&S developed the SLX series, a short-action, and multi-caliber, precision bolt-action rifle weighing less and shorter than its big brother. The SLX-308, available in .308 Win./ 7.62×51 NATO will be shown at IWA with the.260 Rem., and 6.5 Creedmoor calibers becoming available at a later date.
The SLX-308 employs many of the innovative features of the SX-1 including the direct installation of a MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail on the barrel, which allows the user to interchange barrels with pre-set scopes easily and quickly, all without a loss of zero. Additionally, the SLX-308’s fully adjustable, 2-stage Remington 700 standard compatible trigger ensures precise fire control.
The fully-adjustable buttstock can be customized to fit the operator by length, cheekpiece height and height of the recoil pad. The buttstock is also equipped with a MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail for a monopod attachment. The SLX rifle is the newest option available from R&S for precision shooters looking for a shorter overall length and less weight in a precision, long-range rifle.

A “precision” rifle that actually is precise with factory ammunition … wow!
Why would you want to mount a bi-pod from above?
Just a wild guess here – Maybe just to be different and look cool, or maybe so when it’s folded up the bottom of the rail is clean for gripping or for resting on whatever.
It’s probably for that incredibly operational operating position where the operator leans out of a
cartruck and operates (i.e. shoots) upside down from under the door.It appears to be the Elite Iron Revolution bipod. It’s supposed to help with accuracy. Sniper’s Hide did a bullet point on bipods a few months back.

The MSRP is $550.
Just another guess. I’m thinking the rifle will be less teeter-y when it is hung below, rather than stuck on top of the apex of the bipod. I’d give one of those bipods a try, but they’re priced like they’re made of precious metals.
I saw that bipod and thought, “Man! That looks really cool! I want one for my Mosin Nagant!” Don’t worry folks, I won’t link to its TTAG “Show Us Your Weapon of War” again… as much as I want to troll the haters!
Just guessing, but it probably acts like an A-Frame, suspension of the weigh versus supporting the weight.
Will there be a left-handed version? Anybody here familiar enough with this manufacturer to hazard a guess?
Looking at their website I can’t find anything for us southpaws. I don’t think anyone is making a left-handed rifle with a chassis system anymore. Even Savage looks like they cut back on their left handed offerings. So once again it’s find a chassis you like that offers a left handed option and then pick your action and get it barreled for the caliber you want.
Too bad I live in a state ruled by the 9th circuit. None of those for me.

I wonder how much those will be picked off the shelf for….and if we can get them imported here.
Price tag? And I love it when a mfr releases a multi caliber weapon (Sig) and plans to release other caliber (bbls) in the future but never quite does. Been burned once. Never again.
