Holsters aren’t all that expensive. The Seattle Times reports a negligent discharge that will end all negligent discharges for this cheapskate: “A man accidentally shot himself in the testicles at Lowe’s Home Improvement store in Lynnwood Sunday afternoon, police said. The man’s handgun, which was in the waistband of his pants, went off at about 12:30 p.m. — an apparent ‘accidental discharge,’ according to Shannon Sessions, a Lynnwood police spokeswoman. ‘It made a loud noise and scared a lot of people in the store,” Sessions said. “I believe he shot himself in the testicles and he also had some injuries to his leg and foot. He was obviously in shock.'” The comments leaned both for and against shooting yourself in the balls concealed carry . . .
But why carry a gun, when we are living in a peaceful nation, like America? I can understand that one rightfully has to carry a personal service fire arms if you are living in a chaotic countries like Afghanistan and Pakistan. But we are not. It doesn’t make sense . . .
Accidentally shot himself in the testicles? As opposed to the plethora of cases where men intentionally shoot themselves in the testicles?
I wish I could say I felt even an inkling of compassion for anyone who carries a loaded firearm in Lowe’s or any other store and shoots himself. Fortunately he did not shoot an innocent bystander. Another reason why these guys are so dangerous.
Anyone who would carry a gun with a chambered round like that is not a responsible gun owner. If carried properly a gun should never go off . . .
Lowes is a dangerous place. That’s why I always have a loaded and cocked pistol pointed at my testicles whenever I go there.
I carry, it’s my right. Never do I chamber a round though. And for Goodness sakes if I am shopping at Lowes, I lock it in the car, there is no need to carry at Lowes. Now Home Depot? Maybe. 🙂
People carry guns because they view their own and loved ones lives as more important than some gangbanger or Meth-heads impatience at how fast you can get your wallet out. I think however in this case we’ve run across the occasional individual who perhaps should have, shall we say thought things through a bit more. He was careless and it bit him. Folly comes wrapped in many packages and denial is just as bad as carelessness. Remember primary function of the Police is to catch criminals who’ve already committed a crime. Each individual is responsible for their own actions and self preservation. Hope the guy recovers. Stuff happens, especially if you have a lapse in judgment. IMHO at least.
