One of the best things recently fired U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi did during her tenure to help bolster the right of lawful Americans to keep and bear arms was set up a Second Amendment Section within the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Section.
And according to a recent Washington Times report, section leaders there are gearing up to challenge anti-gun state laws throughout the nation. The Times report chronicled an appearance by Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon on the “Dana Loesch Show,” where she said her organization was actively hiring Second Amendment attorneys to pursue challenges to unconstitutional laws wherever they find them.
The report quickly drew the attention of gun-rights group Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Alan Gottlieb, CCRKBA chairman, said his organization is happy with the direction the section is going.
“We’re calling this a progress report on what the Trump administration announced last year regarding Second Amendment scrutiny on local gun regulations,” Gottlieb said in a news release praising the office. “Based on what we know so far, it looks like progress is being made, and it can’t happen too soon for America’s beleaguered gun owners, especially in jurisdictions such as California, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia.”
Gottlieb specifically praised Assistant AG Dhillon for her dedication to ensure Second Amendment rights are restored.
“Harmeet Dhillon is like a breath of fresh air at an agency which historically has remained mute when state legislatures have adopted restrictive gun laws that cannot possibly pass the constitutional smell test,” Gottlieb said. “Her goal of seeing unconstitutional gun laws struck down before her time on the job comes to an end is ambitious, but we’re hoping she can follow through and finish the task. So much needs to be done to restore the Second Amendment to its full potential.”
Gottlieb said that American gun owners are tired of seeing anti-gun politicians, allied with the billionaire-backed gun prohibition lobby, constantly eroding fundamental rights.
“It definitely looks like the Civil Rights Division under Dhillon is determined to give the Second Amendment some teeth,” he said.
Ultimately, Gottlieb believes that while there’s a long way to go, the work of the new Second Amendment Section is definitely headed in the right direction.
“The right to keep and bear arms is as fundamental as free speech, freedom of the press, religion, the right to legal counsel and all the other rights protected by the Bill of Rights,” Gottlieb said. “Some in Congress and state legislatures may have forgotten, but it looks like Ms. Dhillon is determined to remind them. For that, she deserves our support, and a round of applause.”

Since Defending the Second Amendment against “what” is not mentioned in this article and thousands like it…The “what” Is Gun Control….And History Confirms Gun Control is the best pal Racism, Slavery and Genocide ever had. Now the playing field is leveled.
Debbie, Agreed. An unarmed populace is at the whim of its rulers. They need to come to Connecticut, the so-called Constitution State. We have been under tyranny for too many years. Now they want to ban, so called “convertible pistols” or those that work similarly to a glock with a cruciform trigger. The governor is a panty waist, the democrat politicians feel they can do what ever they want to do to gun owners knowing we are a minority in a “blue state”. It is called lawfare, no?

Try to ease back your consumption of slopaganda.
I’m thinking he’s a soros bot.
Could be. Chaos agents are not unheard of on the interwebz.
Try to ease back on whatever the hell it is you’re smoking. It’s too strong for you, whatever it is.
Do you have anything,ANYTHING, to offer besides unhinged, hate-fueled stupidity?

Going to be fun while this section remains funded and staffed.
For some this article is in conflict with D.C. US Attorney Pirro, who is at court trying to prosecute “large capacity” magazines.
Still figuring out if it will be a comedy, drama, tragedy, or some wild mix. At the least it should make things interesting (and hopefully expensive) for a lot of the control states. As to Pirro……surprised this wasn’t worse than it is, great for a lot of issues but was never big on gun rights.
“…Fight Unconstitutional State Gun Restrictions”
Good to know & happy that they but its been point out here on TTAG and on other web sites…the feds still defend their own restrictions on the 2nd Amendment.
The right to keep and bear arms is as fundamental as free speech, freedom of the press, religion, the right to legal counsel and all the other rights protected by the Bill of Rights
All of which are things that technocrats and the Dem Party are against.
Maybe for a reason…

That is a big nothing burger for the general pop; jury duty is a big hassle, to be avoided at al costs. Besides, judges are lawyers who grade their own work, who needs a jury of know nothings?
People who would like criminality to be decided in a manner that involves someone not on the government payroll as a check against a system that’s like Russia from 1917-1991?
Also, pure avoidance of jury duty should be punishable by the wheel, with those who have kids forced to watch their offspring and mate go first.
All these people wanna talk about the Greatest Generation and wonder how they did things. Um well, let’s start with a sense of duty.
Oh, yes and none of that addresses the core issue:
Rights can’t exist in a “multikulti” society, is the thrust of the article.
Not “don’t”, can’t.
Rights exist where I say they do, when I say they do; the law is a asss.
The law doesn’t recognize “rights” where they are unworkable.
Tribalistic multikulti societies are places where they’re unworkable.
I just hope Empress Hochul and the bought and paid for rats in Albany are among their first targets
It’s all a bunch of BS to placate 2A supporters.
Janine Piro just filed a brief today with the DC Court of Appeals to have the decision finding DC’s magazine ban unconstitutional to be reviewed en banc and overturned on review.
Trump and SCOTUS don’t give a damn about your 2A rights.
We would have done much better with kamala?
Which is preferred? Slow death of a people, or fast death? Why?
correct, otherwise the fed gun control n*****s would have had their choke-chains yanked on long ago.
correct & the atf/doj/fbi badge-******* exist to serve themselves
A year has already been squandered. Name one positive result this “section” has accomplished.
I expect more of the same for the remainder of this admin. All smoke and mirrors.
Given how quickly any .gov agency or task force can be put together outside of law enforcement with preexisting staff and intel I would have your questions and views about a year from now as they begin to enter relevance in potential function. And yes that does limit any action they could take to 2 years unless we get another republican president that wants to keep the unit. With that said any actual pushback to state level gun control that isn’t fully funded with our after tax dollars is an improvement.
