Dem Senator Warns Trump Might Appoint Judges That Will Follow The Constitution

We’ve chronicled a number of times how under the Biden Administration, unelected bureaucrats—namely those within the U.S. Department of Justice and its Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF)—have been making laws rather than enforcing them. Just a few examples are the bump stock ban, the redefining of braced pistols as “short-barreled rifle,” and the recently published Final Rule on who is “engaged in the business” of selling firearms.

All of those either are, or will be, tied up in the courtroom for a simple reason. According to the U.S. Constitution, Congress is charged with making laws. For unelected bureaucrats to do so is, in a word, unconstitutional.

Now, a Democrat U.S. senator is warning people to not vote for Donald Trump because he’s likely to appoint judges who will follow the constitution and rule that laws made by anyone other than Congress cannot stand. No, I’m not making that up.

Brietbartnews.com recently reported that U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minnesota, made just such a warning on a broadcast of the MSNBC “news” program “The Last Word.”

“It matters, you…are going to discuss later in your program whether or not a president is above the law, whether or not he can claim immunity for any act, because that’s what Donald Trump is claiming,” Klobuchar told host Lawrence O’Donnell. “We know, with the Mifepristone decision, that was a Trump judge. These decisions about voting rights and the decisions about changing the John Lewis bill and making all of these decisions, that’s about judges, who have been put on by Donald Trump, yes, but also, it’s about judges you can put on that follow the law and are highly qualified.”

Klobuchar then went on to castigate judges who have ruled against agencies making rules or laws, which, as mentioned, is the sole job of Congress.

“And even the Chevron decision…which is about allowing agencies to make decisions about say, what is the percentage of particles in air pollution?” she said. “Some of these judges that Donald Trump put on or are judges out of his ilk, they actually have said, oh, agencies shouldn’t do that, we should have Congress and the judges make those decisions. You can see where this is rolling if he is allowed to come back and put these judges on.”

Where “this is rolling” is actually in a good direction, despite Klobuchar’s warning. We have the Constitution for a reason, and nowhere in the document does it give power to unelected bureaucrats to set criminal laws that result in long prison sentences and high-dollar fines for breaking those “rules.”

Biden’s DOJ has been the worst at crossing that crossing that line, foisting laws upon gun owners that are arguably unconstitutional under the Second Amendment. What is less arguable, though, is that they violate the administrative procedures act.

If dumping Biden and re-electing Trump means having more judges that will actually follow the Constitution and reign in rogue government agencies, that sure wouldn’t be a bad thing.
