Amidst Widespread Unrest, Iran’s Leaders Push To Keep Citizens Disarmed And Helpless

Iran’s Regime Moves to Disarm Protesters as Civil Unrest Grows

With widespread civil unrest and protestors marching in the streets of many large cities in Iran, that country’s oppressive government is doing what oppressive governments do best—trying to make sure their “subjects” remain disarmed.

Several people have reportedly been killed in the unrest, according to various news agencies, and Ayatollah Khamenei allegedly already has a plan to “flee the country” and seek refuge in Moscow if his security forces are unable to suppress the protests. The civil unrest in Iran, according to Reuters, has resulted in the arrest of “an unspecified number of people,” of whom were allegedly building homemade pistols.

And according to the gun-rights organizations Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA), the desire of Iranian citizens to have firearms to protect themselves is an important part of freedom.

“The strife now reported in Iran has probably been inevitable as that nation’s economy is in trouble, Iran’s nuclear development was smashed last year, and the Khamenei regime has essentially turned the country into a dictatorship,” CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb said in a news release detailing the situation. “People who want to be free will always find ways to fight back, even if it means manufacturing their own guns to get the job done. We have seen this throughout history.”

The difference problem Iranian freedom seekers have, however, is a near dictatorial governor, combined with no codified right to keep and bear arms.

“Tyrannical governments invariably act to disarm their populations, which enables them to maintain a chokehold on power,” Gottlieb continued. “Thankfully, here in the U.S., we have the Second Amendment to prevent that.

“The alarming reports of people being killed by forces made up of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, police, the army and at least one militia group, underscore the dire situation. Under such circumstances, it is no wonder that pro-democracy Iranians fighting back against the Ayatollah’s goons would arm themselves any way possible, even with homemade guns.”

The foreign-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) said that at least 36 people have been killed during the last 10 days of protests across Iran, according to a BBC report. About 60 other protesters had been injured, and 2,076 have been arrested during the unrest.

In videos from a protest in Tehran’s Grand Bazaar, a large crowd gathered on a covered street can be heard chanting, “Death to the dictator.” Additionally, Kurdish human rights group Hengaw reported that protesters being treated at the hospital there were wounded when security forces opened fire on a demonstration outside a government compound in Malekshahi on Saturday.

Ultimately, CCRKBA’s Gottlieb hopes the Iranian people’s will to be free will win them liberty, despite having no protections for keeping and bearing arms.

“Remember how our forefathers, many armed with rifles and pistols built by village gunsmiths, fought back against tyranny, against taxation without representation, and against the most powerful army and navy in the world 250 years ago,” Gottlieb concluded. “There is no Second Amendment in the Middle East, but there obviously is a will to be free. It’s the difference between individualism and what some people call ‘collectivism,’ which is another way of describing a dictatorship.”

    • Reminds me my governor has her state of the state today so time to see which of the preloaded gun control bills gets prioritized and put on the legal challenge list this year. Betting on 50bmg ban, mentally health evaluation for purchase, and insurance requirements for ownership (to pay “gun violence” “victims” not benefit the lawful gun owner)

  1. Who wrote this drivel? Many hundreds(let alone thousands )have been murdered in Iran. Take a look at TOUSI TV on YouTube. The few true reports anywhere! Yeah never give up your guns. Homemade bombs & guns don’t cut it. And Israel has ton of nukes🙄

  2. RE: “Several people have reportedly been killed in the unrest”

From reports I’ve read try hundreds ++ killed and thousands arrested. One Iranian general was beaten to death. It is a very large Revoloution and the oppressors and their henchmen should be on alert for another bunker buster delivered via Air Mail.

Nonetheless there are also oppressive power hungry sick individuals who stink up the US Government. Make no mistake about it even if you are a squeaky clean law abiding citizen and you own a firearm in the demented minds of sickos you deserve to be incarcerated and die…like china’s mao where the 2A would quickly be one of the, “olds.” The desire to Control You is along the lines of a pedophile’s desire to abduct and Control a Child. It is Gun Control unfiltered and it is the nature of the beast.

  3. Iran Death Toll at 3,000; US Orders Citizens Out; UPDATE: Trump ‘Help Is On the Way’.

Update: Trump has decided on something other than diplomacy. Within the hour, he announced on Truth Social that he canceled talks with the regime, and exhorted protestors to keep going:

‘Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING – TAKE OVER YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!! Save the names of the killers and abusers. They will pay a big price. I have cancelled all meetings with Iranian Officials until the senseless killing of protesters STOPS. HELP IS ON ITS WAY. MIGA!!! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP’

      • I’ve read it was reopened today. Plus, government officials can open the internet for themselves whenever they have the need. Yesterday their Foreign Minister was posting on X.

        • Yeah, the Iran government opened it back up. I think they realized they were not going to stop the message after Elon positioned starlink satellites over Iran and star link terminals started showing up in Iran. But, they probably wanted to see who was gonna post what, then show up where they were and either kill them or arrest them.

Recent history suggests that explosives are easier and, generally, a better choice.

  6. So Trump is going to send US troops to help a revolutionary war in Iran and in the meantime a lb. of hamberder here is $9.00.
What does Iran have to do with MAGA.
    Oil.
Aren’t we just stealing oil from Venezuela. We need Irans too?
I suppose, whatever keeps the oil from the Russians is worth the cost of American lives to keep Ukraine the dictatorship it is.

      $9.00?

      Its $4.30/lb here.

There’s a lot of places in the U.S. where prices on a lot of things are being kept ‘artificially high’ by either the stores or the suppliers. They got used to the higher prices under Biden, put out the cash to work in that structure for their cost going up, and although their costs have come down under Trump now they don’t want to pass along that reduction to the customers and want to keep capitalizing on the higher prices in some regions. And sometimes its not the stores fault because the supplier is keeping their costs to the stores artificially higher in a region and the store has to make money so they have to tack on their margin too.

And the grocery/food/supplier chain matters too. Some have higher profit margins tacked on to the price anyway and their whole thing is based on that so when their prices drop due to inflation going down instead of passing it along to the consumer in lower prices on items they want to maintain the same profit margin so their prices may be higher on some items another grocery/food/supplier chain somewhere else offers for less because they adapted their profit margin basis for the drop in prices due to inflation going down.

Not all commercial entities are on the same page when inflation is down to result in lower prices for the consumer.

      • Funny you say that, we have noticed substantially higher prices on once you get south of Saratoga headed towards Albany for about anything used to compare “inflation” that gets worse until you get past NYC and into PA or shockingly NJ. Not quite to the point where we are driving over to VT/NH for groceries but if not for time it would be cost effective. Not sure about Massachusetts but hardly go there outside of the Big E anyway….but gas is typically a good bit cheaper so probably wouldn’t be worse than the populated sections of NY.

Everyone one every where is dissatisfied with the cost to put food on the table.
I’m glad your hamberder cost less then mine in this area.
However I have a cattle herd and butcher my own so that’s irrelevant unless you, uh, consider my compassion for those less fortunate.
        I gots so fuck you.

  7. The those who wanted to overthrow the Shah in 1979, are you happy with the outcome? You didn’t think an ultra hardline conservative theocracy would be an improvement? Be careful of what you want because you will get the worst version good and hard.

And for Greenland, is this a suggestion from Donnie’s best bud Vlad? The only beneficiary is Vlad as this could at least weaken, if not completely disrupt, the NATO alliance. It’s not as is Vlad would lie to Donnie, especially on a call immediately before Donnie met with the Ukrainian president.

    • Eh not too worried about Greenland, realistically we will either buy it or build a bunch more bases/reactivate cold war era ones. Either way we are seeing a lot of grandstanding and noise without what is actually being discussed. As to NATO being disrupted would it make much difference? They are only just beginning to meet their end of the bargain and only with great effort on our part paired with Russia being Russia. As to Iran just another flavor of .gov getting too much power over its population so not much different than a lot of NATO (or here in the US) to begin with.
