Yesterday, Connecticut State Attorney Stephen J. Sedensky III released search warrants written in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Spree Killing. Amongst the items inventoried: the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting and an “NRA certificate” for the killer’s murdered mother Nancy Lanza. These facts have received plenty of attention from the mainstream media; MSNBC ghoulishly gloated over the revelation. The NRA felt compelled to release a statement: “There is no record of a member relationship between Newtown killer Adam Lanza, nor between Nancy Lanza, A. Lanza or N. Lanza with the National Rifle Association. Reporting to the contrary is reckless, false and defamatory.” So, bullet dodged then? Not in a world where perception is reality.
