Springfield Armory is known for making high-quality, superbly-crafted 1911s already. That is a reputation that has been long-cemented from their decades of work with the platform, but with their most recent collaboration they kicked up a notch even higher. While at SHOT Show 2026, they announced the new Springfield Armory 10-8 Performance Master Class 1911.

All of the specs that you will want to know are listed below by Springfield:

A Word from Springfield Armory on the 10-8 Performance Master Class 1911

GENESEO, ILL. (01/19/26) – Springfield Armory® is proud to announce the release of the 10-8 Performance Master Class 1911 pistol in .45 ACP and 9mm, a Lipsey’s distributor exclusive. Developed in partnership with Hilton Yam, founder of 10-8 Performance as well as a retired FBI Special Agent and SWAT firearms instructor, the 10-8 Performance Master Class 1911 reflects decades of professional end-user experience.

“The new 10-8 Performance Master Class is a culmination of all the aspects of my time working with the 1911 — from competitive shooting, to my law enforcement career, to building and designing parts for them,” said Hilton Yam. “This pistol represents everything I would want in a production 1911.”

“Springfield Armory 1911 pistols have long been renowned for their durability and performance,” said Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “We’re thrilled to be working with Hilton Yam and 10-8 Performance to bring our two company’s vision for this new Master Class pistol to reality — and the results speak for themselves.”

  1. Over 2 grand for a ceracoated sack full of mim parts? Do they include a pre-paid shipping box for its trip to their ” service ” department?
    Thanks, I’ll pass

  2. Bought a Colt 1911 Gold Cup Custom Shop Stainless Target 9mm for 1/3 less last Fall…
shoots one hole 25 yard groups from the Ransom Rest. Thanks anyways, Springfield.

Also: Advice from former law enforcement and military tactics are largely inapplicable to civilians…we defend alone and have no rules of engagement. We can’t call for reinforcements when our “stack” gets shot up or we run out of ammo. We can, however, use whatever we want, when and how we want, so there’s that.

Example: this Yam guy has “designed” a fixed sight 1911 which is a fancy target pistol minus the adjustable sight and some Ceracoat. What matters is what is inside…clean feed ramp, properly two lug seated barrel, correct link, hard extractor, etc. Buy a basic quality 1911 and spend the money inside…you won’t regret it.

  3. I have a habit of liking the most expensive things like the Jacob Grey sans the bling. However to maintain peace and harmony with a penny pincher the SA and especially the JG are out of my allowance limits. However if I can prove it’s a deal not to pass up then it’s a maybe. For those in a similiar boat here is a decent deal on a decent firearm…

  4. It’s not out of my ability (with regards to price range), but for $2K+, I’d want “more”.

But then again, while I do like sports cars, I still drive a Honda. Okay, it’s an Acura. But still, it was $20K less than the BMW I was looking at.

So what’s the Honda equivalent of this Springfield 1911?

  5. If Unicorn is correct and it has mims parts I agree. Pass. The $2000 price tag is not out of line. I remember the days of buying a Colt Series 70 and sending it to Swenson, Wilson, etc. along with $2000-3000 and then you waited for a couple of years.
