If you were reading between the lines last night and came to the same conclusion we did, it seems almost a sure bet that the president is going to make some kind of push for a new assault weapons ban. Whether that takes the form of trying to shame Congress to making something happen or via regulatory fiat through an executive order remains to be seen.
