For reasons that I can’t quite explain, author Dan Baum and I have become fast friends. Actually, I can explain it: professional courtesy. Dan’s one of the best writers of our time. His work is insightful, artful, literate and funny. I’ll save suitable examples of his creative genius for my forthcoming review of his latest tome. Suffice it to say, Gun Guys is a must-read—even though Dan’s attempt to walk the [non-existent] middle ground on gun rights gives aid and comfort to our enemies. Again, more on that later. For now I’ve got a pristine hardback copy worth $16.95 (msrp) for the member of our Armed Intelligentsia who can come up with a pro-Second Amendment slogan aimed at non-gun owners. Hey, if Dan can court the fence straddlers, so can we. As a man who claims to understand both gun guys, non-gun guys and gun-grabbing libtards (paraphrasing), Dan himself will choose the winner tomorrow. May the best agitprop propagator win!
