If you answered “yes” to all three questions above, then there’s an upcoming dinner party you might want to crash attend.
From Patriot Picket comes news of an event that a Maryland law firm — one that specializes in “government relations” — is throwing for members of the state Senate’s Judicial Proceedings Committee:
Bellamy Genn represents Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown For Gun Safety civilian disarmament advocacy org. B-G is Everytown’s lobbying firm in the Old Line State.
Why would the Bellamy Genn lobbyists invite the members of the Judicial Proceedings Committee at this particular time? Well, there are a couple of gun control bills currently before the committee; a safe storage mandate bill and another requiring FFL’s to maintain electronic records.
But especially after yesterday’s debacle in Virginia, maintaining good relations with committee members — especially in light of the pending “assault weapons” ban and registration bill, HB 1261 — is more critical than ever.
So the upcoming steak diner be a fun night out with the family…a good opportunity to randomly bump into one of your legislators and say “hi” to some of the folks from Everytown at the same time
Just be careful that you don’t slip on an invisible banana peel and spill your cranberry vodka on anyone’s $1000 suit. We wouldn’t want Everytown to have to foot a dry cleaning bill like that.
