Canadian Media, Liberals Condemn Army’s 3540 Meter Kill Shot

In recent days, the dead-tree Toronto Star suffered a meltdown over comments made by the Canadian Prime Minister. Justin Trudeau lauded members of the Canuck armed forces for a remarkable sniper shot in Iraq. Clearly, the soldiers deserved high praise. One of Canada’s best connected on a 3540 meter rifle shot at a ISIS “fighter” in Iraq. The shot proved an all-time record-breaker and wonderfully fatal to the target.

Understandably, Trudeau recognized the accomplishment. From an earlier report at the Toronto Star:

“What happened there is, first of all, something to be celebrated for the excellence of the Canadian Forces in their training, in the performance of their duties,” Trudeau told a news conference.

But praising military excellence didn’t sit well with the pearl-clutching pacifists at the Star. In a show of furious hand-wringing submissiveness, the newspaper poo-poohed any “celebration” of military power as distressingly “crude and simplistic.”

From Sniper shot is no cause to celebrate: Editorial…

Justin Trudeau was wrong to suggest the killing of a Daesh fighter is cause for pride.

…they are human beings. They have homes and families and histories. No matter their crimes, their lives are valuable in the sense that all lives are valuable, and deserving of at least some degree of respect.

These sissified, big-city leftists are the same people who argue against gun rights for law abiding citizens. They live in ivory towers, far from the battlefield or, for that matter, the mean streets of their own cities. They have no clue how the real world works.

These hand-wringing peaceniks rush to defend adherents of radical Islam while sweeping Islamic barbarism under the rug. They avoid reporting on how these Daesh types — the same people who “have homes and families and histories” —  stone rape victims to death for the crime of adultery.

They bury reports of radical Islamists throwing gays off of buildings to their deaths for their homosexuality.

Where are their stories of how these same monsters burn women and children alive for trying to flee Islamist-controlled areas of Iraq? The mainstream press somehow forgets to cover stories of how these “valuable” human beings mangled over two-hundred toddlers to death in an industrial dough kneader for the “crime” of being Christian.

Americans have the right to keep and bear arms, [sort of] protected by the Constitution. Unlike many residents of other nations, our citizens own and carry guns — and we’re not afraid to use them when the situation warrants. Here and abroad. And we don’t apologize or prevaricate when we do. Why should we?
