The Oklahoma City PD is refusing to name the cop in question. That’s right, no ID despite shot(s) fired inside his home (a violation of local law). No ID despite endangering the school kids next door. And — oh, by the way — no ID despite the determination by his buddies at the cop shop that the gun owner has a “mental health issue.” If it were you…bam, ticket pulled. If it were me…boom, guns confiscated. But it wasn’t you, me or any other Joe Schmoe. This gun owner is a cop and the thin blue line protects its own in the OKC.
That whole megillah went down almost two weeks ago. And now there’s this:
The Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office has decided not to file charges against an Oklahoma City police officer who fired a gun inside his home.
Wait, what?
After an investigation, Cleveland County prosecutors decided not to file charges. The Oklahoma City Police Department, however, released a statement saying the administrative investigation continues.
Oh well, at least they’re still looking into it. Administratively speaking. That’s something, right? We’re sure any other OKCitizen would have been afforded exactly the same level of restraint, understanding and forbearance that was shown our incognito officer. Sure they would, wouldn’t they?
