“City probers are investigating a correction officer who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg when his service weapon accidentally discharged inside a Brooklyn jail,” nydailynews.com reports. “Correction Officer John Santiago inadvertently fired a round into his left leg as he was holstering his gun inside the Brooklyn Detention Complex at 11:22 a.m. Saturday, records show. It was not clear why he had removed the gun. All department shootings are reviewed. Santiago was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is listed in stable condition.” So, Santiago is left-handed, ham-fisted and prone to playing with his pistol.
