MAGPUL is now shipping their new PMAG 25 LR/SR for rifles chambered in .308/7.62. The new mags have all the standard features of the Gen3 PMAGS you’re used to, including the slim floorplate and the dot matrix area for marking. The mags feature a 25 round capacity and a window, and are designed for ammunition that falls within SAAMI specs for overall length. For shooters that prefer to shoot ammo that exceeds the SAAMI specs, such as match ammo, a design to accommodate the longer rounds and still drop free from “all but the smallest of mag wells” is coming in the fall of this year . . .

Tarpon Springs, Florida will soon be home to a sprawling, multifaceted gun range facility, if developers have their way. Tarpon Springs city commissioners voted unanimously to approve the 60,000-square-foot Reload Gun Range on Tuesday. The large facility will feature 45 firing lanes, a cafe, gunsmith service, classroom space, a firearms store and training areas for law enforcement, and could be open by this time next year. There were loud voices on both sides prior to the vote, with opponents expressing fears that the range would bring noise, pollution, and crime to the city. Commissioners instead decided that the range would boost tourism, create jobs, generate tax revenue and remove a long-standing eyesore, as the chosen location is currently occupied by a long-abandoned Days Inn and an IHOP. The one concession the commissioners required from the developer was that they had to abandon plans to display a tank in front of the completed facility. Good trade.

An altercation on an RTA bus in Dayton, Ohio Monday morning resulted in a gun being pulled, then dropped, and a man being arrested. Two men started arguing in the back of a city bus, and one pulled a gun. Somehow he dropped it, and the other man picked it up, and hit the first man with it, injuring him. No shots were fired. The driver stopped the bus and opened the back door, and both men got off. The wounded man was found by police at a nearby library, and was taken into custody. According to police, he faces at least weapons charges. They’re still looking for the other man, and what they’d charge him with is unclear. Personally, I think he deserves nothing more than a handshake. Someone pulled a gun on him and all he did was hit the guy with his own gun. That’s a lot of self-restraint.

Two former students of an expensive Philadelphia prep school were charged on Monday with running a five-school drug ring, using the contacts obtained while members of the lacrosse team at the school. The drug ring, headquartered out of the $35,000-a-year all-boys Haverford School in Philadelphia’s affluent Main Line suburb, was selling cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana, and hash oil to students. Police recovered over eight pounds of marijuna, about $11,000 in cash, a loaded assault weapon [gasp] and two other firearms while executing a search warrant. One of the two students obtained the marijuana from a contact in California who said that the pot would “sell very well on the Main Line because everyone between 15 and 55 loves good weed.”

This looks like they had some fun. Don’t think too hard about it, just enjoy the show.

The best one is clearly the Halo Energy Sword, although who doesn’t love a good sticky mine.
