White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest reacted to the Oregon Umpqua College shooting by reiterating the administration’s support for gun control. “The president has been quite candid about how this is and has been a source of frustration for him.” Apparently, the “vast majority of the American people” agreed with Obama “on some element of gun control.” That said, the White House flew the white flag, signaling the unlikelihood of Congressional action on gun control. “Fundamental change” in the country is necessary for political action, Earnest said.
