Moses Clay, 17, was arrested after police say he stole the weapon and gear and posed with it on Instagram.
The deputy noticed the gun was missing after leaving the car parked for several hours on Aug. 14 near a shopping plaza in Boynton Beach. He reported the incident to Boynton Beach police. A ballistic helmet, gas mask, rifle clips and a training gun also were missing, the deputy reported.
Boynton Beach police say surveillance video showed Clay leaving the parking lot in a car they later found in the area.
Detectives also said they found a video of Clay showing off a similar gun on an Instagram post while dancing and rapping to music, according to a probable cause affidavit. Police identified the gun from the video by its customized features, which matched those of the deputy’s.

THE US porn star Stormy Daniels has bought a gun and hired security because she’s worried for her life, a friend has revealed.
It’s claimed the adult star, 39, believes she is in danger after revealing her alleged affair with US president Donald Trump.
She also fears pulling out of Celebrity Big Brother this week has made her more of a target.
A source close to the star told The Mirror: “She feels like everyone seems to be against her — Trump fanatics, his aides and even her own fans who will miss out on her appearing on the show.”
And they insisted Stormy wasn’t interested in money.

A former Cicero police officer took his own life in June using his old service pistol — a weapon he wasn’t supposed to have.
Donald Garrity, 44, died June 6. He shot himself in his Plainfield home, according to police records. The death was ruled a suicide, and the case was closed.
Now, authorities have reopened the case after the Chicago Sun-Times told Plainfield police that the gun Garrity used to end his life was his police service pistol, a Glock 17. He had turned it over to law enforcement years earlier when his Firearm Owners Identification card was revoked due to mental health issues, records show.

An AR-15’s lower receiver is the only part of the gun that has a serial number, and the only part that requires a background check to purchase. The 3-D-printing of the lower receiver creates an untraceable gun.
The AR-15 is a highly customizable weapon, and all the other necessary parts to build a working rifle can be purchased without a background check. …
The quality of material used by most 3-D-printers is not durable enough to reliably handle the enormous stresses a firearm must endure. The 3-D-printers that fabricate with metal do exist but are expensive. The technology is evolving, however, and new materials could make stronger fabrications. And the growth of the 3-D-printer market could make the technology cheaper, more commonplace and spur more innovation.

Israel eased restrictions on gun ownership Monday in a move intended to increase the number of weapons in circulation, allowing Israelis to more effectively respond to Palestinian terrorism.
According to the Israeli news site Ynet, the Ministry of Public Security’s new licensing policy will open up gun ownership to hundreds of thousands of veterans, although they will still be required to pass the same rigorous screening procedures in place. Only those living in the West Bank or working in professions that required weapons, such as security guards, had been eligible for ownership.
“Many civilians have saved lives during terror attacks,” Minister of Public Security Gilad Erdan was quoted as saying. “In an era of lone-wolf terror attacks, the more armed and trained civilians there are, the larger the chances of disrupting an attack and decreasing casualties.”
