The NRA needs your money to keep defending firearms freedom. Now there’s a surprise. My constantly ringing home phone and never-decreasing pile of direct mail solicitations are testimony to the fact that Wayne LaPierre’s peeps are the dictionary definition of relentless fund raisers. But hey, they did shell out $52 million promoting pro-gun pols this election season, including $32 million on the Trumpster. As a result, the NRA’s boiler room babes are pleading poverty. Here’s an excerpt from WLP’s post-election appeal:
“In the face of bitter and despicable attacks, you stood tall. In North Carolina, in Florida, in Pennsylvania, Ohio and more, you swung this election and sent Donald Trump to the White House. And believe me, NRA didn’t hold back. Instead, we spent every single dollar we could muster, because a Hillary Clinton presidency and the final destruction of our Second Amendment rights was not an option. If I’d socked away your 2016 gifts for a rainy day – and we’d lost this election by a nose – you’d never have forgiven me. And I would have never forgiven myself. That’s why we went for broke and left it all on the field. But NRA is now flat on its back financially. And I need your immediate help to get NRA back on its feet for the battles still headed our way.”
Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose . . . Big Gun’s Big Fail – “The gun culture’s objection to conglomeration was reminiscent of objections I’d once heard from ‘conscious consumers’ when Unilever had purchased Ben & Jerry’s. Gun manufacturing had historically been an artisanal business, and gun buyers liked it that way. So did a former Bushmaster employee I spoke with, whose complaints about Cerberus’s conduct sounded, at times, more like complaints about capitalism itself. ‘I observed them screw up a lot of companies and put a lot of people out of work,’ he told me. ‘They weren’t in it for the right reasons.’ When I suggested to him that Cerberus just wanted profits, he responded with indignation. ‘Yeah, sure. But there’s also heritage, and history. They didn’t care about any of that.’ They certainly didn’t.”
“Alisha Moore, 34, discusses gun safety at a Nov. 17 candlelight vigil after the shooting death of her son, Jamari Moore,” the YouTube caption informs. “Alisha Moore said her son was shot by another child who was able to get a gun in a home.” Ms. Moore’s solution? Lock it up! And “don’t let your kids know you have a gun.” Wait. What?
Australia shares fears about a 3D printed future – “Some of the concern comes from a section in the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission’s Illicit firearms report. The report that lists 3D printed guns as a potential (however low-risk) threat to the nation’s security. Though we can’t deny that it is possible to create such products with 3D printing, one of the most popular stories about 3D printing is of course the technology being used to make guns, the fact remains that 3D printing is much more complicated than the traditional method of manufacturing these objects, or even simply buying them.”

VIDEO: Dash-cam footage shows Tulsa police sniper shoot, kill man holding child hostage – “Newly released dash-cam images capture the moment a Tulsa police sniper shot and killed an armed man reportedly holding his estranged wife’s 2-year-old daughter hostage as he stood on the balcony of her east Tulsa home last month. … Authorities have said Reyes was holding the girl’s hand while also carrying a firearm at the time Officer Jason Lawless, a special operations sniper, fired the deadly shot. Reyes was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Cops: Texas man threatens to kill parents over their votes – “A Texas man who police say was not happy with the outcome of the presidential election is facing charges for allegedly threatening to kill his parents, reports CBS affiliate KENS. Chase Carter, 29, of San Antonio, was arrested Sunday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a Nov. 9 incident. Carter’s girlfriend told police that he was angry that his parents voted for a different candidate than he did, and allegedly threatened to kill them.” Somehow the article never mentions which candidate Chase voted for (or the one he was upset about winning).
JW Probe: Secret Service Loses Guns, Badges, Laptops, “Other Equipment” – “The U.S. Secret Service has lost thousands of agency computers, radios, cell phones, weapons, credentials and vehicles since Islamic terrorists executed the worst attack in U.S. history, records obtained by Judicial Watch show. The equipment was reported lost or stolen by the Secret Service, which claims to be one of the most elite law enforcement organizations in the world with responsibilities that include protecting, not only the president, but also national and visiting foreign leaders as well as conducting criminal investigations.” It’s almost as if someone needs to make the Secret Service great again.
