Rahm Emanuel’s Son Mugged Outside Mayor’s Home

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s 17-year-old son Zach stepped outside the family home Friday night to make a phone call. Apparently seeing a target of opportunity, two wayward yoots grabbed him, pummeled him and appropriated his cell phone. Wait, isn’t Hizzoner’s humble abode, you know, protected by some of Chicago’s finest? As a matter of fact, chicago.cbslocal.com reports, “Police officers are assigned to the mayor’s home front and back 24 hours a day. There are also cameras at both ends of the block.” It seems nowhere is safe in Chiraq these days. But don’t worry, the CPD’s upping the ante . . .

Dan Hill lives on the block. Hill says he’s seen an increased police presence on the block Saturday.

“There’s been at least one more paddy wagon out here this morning and, just a couple unmarked cars up and down the street,” Hill said. “Usually there’s just two, one in front and one in the back.”

Horse. Barn door.

The good news for Chicagoans who don’t have the benefit of a phalanx of cops stationed outside their home around the clock is that concealed carry is now an option, no thanks to the Mayor. Unfortunately, Master Zach is too young to qualify for a permit. He’ll have to wait until he’s 21 to protect himself on the Windy’s City’s mean streets. Or his father’s front lawn. Until then, good luck, kid.
