I’ve worked in the media for almost thirty years, including a five-year stint at CNN. I’ve had more drinks with J-School grads than Sky‘s had hot dinners. When it comes to guns, my media colleagues are a lost generation. The forty-something-and-above mainstream media mavens are white liberals who grew up in gun-free urban enclaves. I’ve got three words for the next generation coming through: Call of Duty. And here’s another one: internet. Not to mention that college educated thirty-somethings (and below) trust Uncle Sam like Israeli Jews trust the so-called Arab Spring. In sum, I’m getting the distinct impression that the young guns in the MSM are beginning to soften their hard line against personal firearms.
