Maybe the most widely known of the out-of-towners recently snagged by NYC’s web of anti-gun laws, Meredith Graves took a misdemeanor plea deal this morning, paid a $200 fine and, do doubt, got the hell out of Dodge. Almost no one who purports to be in charge in the Big Apple wanted to see Graves, a nursing student from Tennessee, do any time. As we pointed out earlier, making a sympathetic example of her would only have provided a never-ending supply of ammo to HR 822 proponents and made it that much harder for New York to keep its crazily restrictive gun laws in place. And Mayor Mike just can’t have that.
