A few short hours ago in Washington, D.C.’s NW Friendship Heights area, a man was shot after kicking in two plexiglass doors between the street and the TV station’s lobby.

From The Washington Post:

Video from two surveillance cameras, aired by Fox 5 News, showed the man wearing a red hooded sweatshirt walking up to the door, turning his back to the door and with one hard kick knocking out a plexiglass panel to an exterior door. Gresham said the incident happened at 3 p.m.

The man then entered a small vestibule and began kicking a second door opening to the lobby, the surveillance video shows. After several kicks, he was able to pull down the plexiglass from the second door and he then climbed through the door and into the lobby of the longtime WTTG offices at 5151 Wisconsin Ave. NW.

It looks like that surveillance footage is not currently available at this time. It’s not clear why the building was targeted or who the 37-year-old suspect was. However, according to NBC Washington, the suspect was saying that he wanted Fox 5 to contact President Trump using a phone number that he himself was attempting to provide.

The suspect is expected to survive the gunshot wound. We’ll update this story as more details surface.
