Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro waved his magic wand and made everything a firearm, with sales of raw materials subject to background checks. But even the Pennsylvania courts are having trouble with that bit of hocus pocus.

To rub a little salt in the wound, CTRL-Pew also struck back with the Joshie Washie 9.

This is, after all, the 21st century.

People have been hand-making firearms for centuries. Control-freak politicians couldn’t stop criminals from making zip guns from length of common water pipe, or even radio antennas back in the fifties…no CNC mill or 3D printer required.

Thanks to some speedy technological advances over the last 60-70 years, we now have home CNC mills and 3D printers and they aren’t going away. The cat is out of the bag. The horse is out of the barn. Pick your metaphor, they’ve been on the loose for the better part of a millennium.

Victim disarmers like Josh Shapiro need to stop trying to fight Canute’s tide with insane laws that target the innocent. It’s time — if they have the slightest interest in doing the jobs they were appointed/elected to — to start targeting criminals criminally using firearms, instead.

We’ve told you how. Incarceration, education, and self defense.

Additionally, fund firearm recovery task forces to concentrate on finding stolen firearms, and the traffickers who move them. Use tax breaks to encourage businesses to be more open to employing ex-felons who want to go straight.

Just in the past 20 years, some 3.5 million stolen firearms have hit the streets. The grand total for all time is probably in excess of 5 million. The vast majority are never recovered. If Shapiro’s magic wand worked, and home-built firearms quietly faded away, those stolen guns would still be there. Because all these bans pointedly ignore them.

It’s time to start fighting the criminal use of firearms, not the honest folks minding their own business. If the gun controllers cannot do that, they must publicly admit their real goal: socialism and enslavement of the nation. Every new wave of socialist programs in America has been accompanied with a wave of gun control.

Contrast that with the first “gun control” laws, when America was young and this socialism thing hadn’t been invented yet.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

And what appears to be the first national sort-of gun control legislation, the Militia Act of 1792, which required privately owned, militarily-suitable arms and ammunition, and field gear.

But that’s too inconvenient for folks who value Karl Marx over James Madison

The governments of Europe are afraid to trust the people with arms. If they did, the people would certainly shake off the yoke of tyranny, as America did.
