Lots of gun owners think EOTECH’s holographic sights are red dots. They aren’t. They’re holographic sights which are a very different animal (see this post for the details). But SHOT Show saw EOTECH announce their first actual red dot, the new EFLX Mini Reflex Sight (MRS).

It’s got a lot going for it. The new EFLX (pronounced e-flex) is built with the Leupold DeltaPoint footprint will have a 3 MOA or 6 MOA dot. The EFLX on display has a large window (similar to the DeltaPoint or ROMEO1PRO) with excellent edge-to-edge clarity and the 6 MOA dot was perfectly crisp and clear.

The EFLX Mini Reflex Sight has an aluminum housing and is watertight to 10 meters so it’s likely to stand up to anything you’ll ever do to it. You get eight brightness settings (it’s night vision compatible) and you’ll get 20,000 to 25,000 hours of battery life (depending on dot size) on a 2032. The EFLX weights 1.4 oz.

Maybe most noteworthy is the price. The EFLX is assembled in the USA and will have an MSRP of $389 which means it will probably retail in the $300-$325 neighborhood. That’s a neighborhood a lot of gun owners can afford for what looks like a tough, full-function pistol red dot sight. They EFLX is expected to hit stores in the second quarter of 2022.
