Indiana mayors to lobby statehouse for help on gun ordinances – “’I can’t pass a regulation, a law, anything to do in any way with guns ammunition or accessories,’ said (Bloomington Mayor John) Hamilton, ‘and if I do try to do anything, I’m subject to triple attorneys’ fees, penalties, so we’re all prohibited from doing anything.’ About the only thing Hamilton could do was write an OpEd piece for the New York Times titled Pistols at the Pool, Machine Guns on Parade and Nothing We Can Do. Bossier Sheriff Opens Rifle Range to Public – “Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington is opening up the sheriff’s office rifle range to the public on three weekends in September so hunters can sight in their rifles. The range at 2955 Old Plain Dealing Road will be open September 3, 10 and 17 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. each day.
