NRA provides police with new rifles – “New rifles set to go into the Walterboro (SC) Police Department cruisers were obtained through a grant provided by the National Rifle Association. In October 2015, the Walterboro Police Department submitted a grant to the NRA for funding for new patrol rifles. The NRA approved the grant, providing Walterboro Police Department with the funding to purchase 10 new patrol AR-15 rifles, slings and scopes. The grant also funded the purchase of 10 hard carrying cases for the firearms.”
No contract yet to produce the new Canadian Ranger rifle, says Colt Canada – “(Colt Canada’s Warren) Downing didn’t have an explanation on the delay. But sources tell Defence Watch that the usual slowness of the procurement bureaucracy is behind the delay. The new rifle, called the C-19, is based on the SAKO T3 CTR (Compact Tactical Rifle). It is in .308 calibre.”

Not directly, mind you. Instead, they funded New Security Action, which in turn funded the video campaign. According to Ploughshares’ 2015 annual report, New Security Action received a pair of grants for $25,000 each: the first, to “develop an online ‘hub’ that highlights the latest information related to the P5 + 1 nuclear negotiations with Iran,” the second, for “mobilization of a broad base of public support of the negotiated settlement with Iran on its nuclear program.” Does anyone actually think of the GOP’s flaccid congressional leadership in this gun-wielding, cartoonish way?
