Fortis Manufacturing, Inc makes some really sharp looking AR parts, like the keymod rail section we reviewed a few months ago. Minus the lower receiver, they’ve got the rest of the AR series pretty well covered. We checked out a couple of their unique handguard systems, and took a bunch of pics of the insanely sweet SBR seen above . . .
Installation of the barrel nut expands the handguard mount collar inside of the handguard, clamping it very solidly in place without nuts or bolts.
This is the SWITCH Rail System. Again, it’s the mount that makes it unique.
Push the release then pull down the lever, and the handguard slides right off.
So far there are 9 handguards to swap between, and Fortis asserts that they align flawlessly every time.
