America’s Gun Violence Represents A Failure Of Leadership, Not Laws – Well duh . . .

Everything that happened in Florida that led to the horrific shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School is a lesson in leadership, or the lack of it. And solutions that focus on laws instead of leadership are bound to fail. The disgraced Broward County sheriff, Scott Israel, whose office repeatedly ignored pleas to arrest the killer before the massacre and told officers at the scene to stand down, deserves much of the blame for the mishandling of the Parkland shooter.

The school resource officer who refused to do his duty and protect the children in that school when he heard them being gunned down was Israel’s responsibility. But Israel passed the buck. The deputy sheriff who told officers not to charge into the building to stop the shooter was Israel’s responsibility. He passed that buck, too. His office was repeatedly told prior to the shooting that the individual responsible was a violent threat to the community. Israel ignored that as well.

Gun Control: Why the Response to Parkland Was Different – Unlike the NRA, they were staged and ready to go . . .

The other thing that has helped keep the issue in the spotlight is infrastructure Moms Demand Action, its parent organization, Everytown, and Giffords have spent the last several years putting into place – a vast network of supporters, legislative experts, PR professionals and large amounts of money available to put behind the students’ spontaneous efforts.

The day after the shooting, members from the Tallahassee chapter of Moms Demand Action were already on the ground protesting at the state capital. The next day, Everytown had rolled out a five-point plan to remove NRA-backed politicians from office. Days after that, Giffords had rolled out a six-figure ad buy targeting Governor Rick Scott for his coziness with the NRA. (Scott signed the new restrictions in law a few weeks later.)

Most importantly, though, almost as soon as the Parkland students began planning their march, Everytown offered their support to help spread the movement across the country. They went on to create an open source tool kit anyone could download to plan a march in their town and pledge $2.5 million in grants to offset “operational expenses” of more than 400 marches set to take place in every state around the country.

California Democrats Intro Bill To Stop 2nd Amendment Groups from Raising Money – The next step in California’s attempt to fully disarm the state . . .

That’s right – if you think things couldn’t get any worse in California, Los Angeles Assemblyman Chris Holden (D-Pasadena) just introduced a bill that would outlaw any organization from raffling firearms.

AB 3199 would prohibit an authorized raffle conducted by eligible organizations (which Gun Owners of California and many like-minded groups are) from offering a firearm as a “prize.”

This is clearly a case where Democrats are doing everything they can to defund – and to eliminate organized opposition to their anti-gun policies.
Regardless of their intent, this will have no bearing whatsoever on crime in California. It is a punitive measure aimed directly at the thousands upon thousands of grassroots individuals who are members of organizations dedicated to the protection of the 2nd Amendment, hunting, firearms safety and training.

Arnold Police Chief Robert Shockey said the incident happened at Pawn King on Jeff Co Boulevard at around 4 p.m.

Shockey said the armed suspect came into the shop and attempted to rob the business when he was shot and killed. The owner was not hurt.

Advice from a Russian: Never Give Up Your Guns – Know your history . . .

For those of us fighting for our traditional rights, the U.S. 2nd Amendment is a rare light in an ever-darkening room. Governments will use the excuse of trying to protect the people from maniacs and crime, but in reality, it is the bureaucrats protecting their power and position. In all cases where guns are banned, gun crime continues and often increases. As for maniacs, be it nuts with cars (NYC, Chapel Hill NC), swords (Japan), knives (China) or homemade bombs (everywhere), insane people strike. They throw acid (Pakistan, UK), they throw fire bombs (France), they attack. What is worse, is, that the best way to stop a maniac is not psychology or jail or “talking to them;” it is a bullet in the head. That is why they are a maniac, because they are incapable of living in reality or stopping themselves.

The excuse that people will start shooting each other is also plain silly. So it is our politicians saying that our society is full of incapable adolescents who can never be trusted? Then, please explain how we can trust them or the police, who themselves grew up and came from the same culture?

No, it is about power and a total power over the people. There is a lot of desire to bad mouth the Tsar, particularly by the Communists, who claim he was a tyrant, and yet under him we were armed and under the progressives disarmed. Do not be fooled by a belief that progressives – leftists – hate guns. Oh no, they do not. What they hate is guns in the hands of those who are not marching in lock step to their ideology. They hate guns in the hands of those who think for themselves and do not obey without question. They hate guns in the hands of those whom they have slated for a gun barrel to the back of the ear.
